To [livejournal.com profile] birkwelch, who apparently subsidized my paypal account when I wasn't looking on my birthday (and [livejournal.com profile] sundart's too!)

Proof I should probably check my paypal notices every so often, lol. Thank you! *hugs*
kjpepper: (anything for love (leavetaking))
It used to be that my window would happen to be open and occasionally, a blue wind would come through it, smelling of trouble, adventure, speed metal, and the incongruous charm of a hot black man working the Hot topic pro look. When it came through it always left me smiling.

These days I leave my window open on purpose and look for it every day. It shows up a bit more frequently now, and I occasionally follow it wherever it might be blowing. This past year it's led to a whole lot of new friends, the opportunity to get to know some past acquaintances much much better, and more games I barely have time to play. It's also led to rediscovering bits of myself I'd completely forgotten about over the years, and even better learning that having a blue wind blow through your life every so often is a quite lovely thing indeed.

Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] bluewindkitsune.
kjpepper: (om nom nom)
[livejournal.com profile] sundart noticed I was kinda down this morning and offered to give me my birthday present to cheer me up. Before the whole hospital thing, she'd asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and I asked for a trip to Osaka (the restaurant in Northampton, lol) cause I hadn't been for a while. So we went for lunch this afternoon, and I must say that I rather shamelessly pigged out on yaki soba and edemame. Seriously, that's the first time I've ever been confronted with a heaping plate of yaki soba and I finished the whole thing, including the mushrooms. I must have been hungry or something. Anyway, I am stuffed full of delicious Japanese food currently and very happy about this.

I am actually looking rather forward to actually heading back to the office next week, so I can set up that worktime/hometime boundary again. While being able to work in my pjs _is_ nice, I'm not fond of the feeling that just because I can, I SHOULD. It does not help that I'm still digging my way out from under the two week log jam that piled up while I was, you know, being all surgery-fied. Blorg.

Milestone - underpants. I've missed my Vicki's Secret high cut briefs. Still can't wear normal slacks though. Too tight around the waist.

Birthdays! [livejournal.com profile] kittikattie, [livejournal.com profile] shadowmorphic, [livejournal.com profile] aisha7576. Much with the happy!

Work more or sleep off the food coma a bit, that is the question... I should work more... *sigh*
kjpepper: (whee!!)
to [livejournal.com profile] jeanettez and [livejournal.com profile] mythmaster for the birthday money! I can has Sigg bottle! Yay!!! *dance of hydration goodness*
kjpepper: (me and sunny d)
To the girl that made college tolerable way back when, and the woman who recently got me through the scariest two weeks of my waking life;

To the person I know well enough to fight with without uttering a single word, and who knows me well enough to finish almost every quote, in-joke and reference in my repertoire;

To the quietly devious wild strawberry who will one day take over the world with a garden full of heirloom edibles;

To my partner/wife/best friend/it's complicated, lol, my dear [livejournal.com profile] sundart, happy 30th birthday. May your endeavors in apple picking today yield yummies later!
kjpepper: (fallen angel)
I don't know how it ended up that I and the three people whose tides affect my life the most all ended up with birthdays in the same ten day period, but there you go. Damn Libras.I can't even all the way blame their parents, as two of these folks showed up early. Just had to get into the Opal Birthstone Club I guess! ;)

Anyway... happy 29th to my angel, my Panther, my number one bullshit detector, my pain in the ass, my partner in crime, and quite frankly THE best giver of hugs and head-swimmy kisses walking my world. Thank you for being there to listen to me and to catch me and quietly put me back together when I fall apart occasionally, even despite the bullshit we've been going through the last couple of years. Thank you for sticking around and weathering me at my bitchiest, and for just sitting around and being goofy with me the rest of the time. Thank you, as always, for reminding me by existing that magic runs rampant in this world, and that I need only look for it to see it. Thank you for making me laugh despite myself, even though I always wanna hit you at the same time. Thank you for making my head slow down enough to think about things from other perspectives (or at least trying, I know it doesn't always work!) And for occasionally making me splutter/squee/cry with whatever random act of sweetness you cook up from left field sometimes.

After four plus years and all we've been through, I still crazy love you and always will, you big bear. Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] morlock.

This picture seemed appropriate both for [livejournal.com profile] _kyri's birthday today (I still don't know why you randomly friended me all them years ago, but I'm glad you did!) and for upcoming Coming Out Day/Pride. Plus it made me die laughing.

which of course kinda needs to be immediately followed by:

In other news, much more energy today (though still trying to not push it in the spoons dept), swelling in legs is still slowly on the run, developing a definite fondness for Very Vanilla Silk. Good good stuff. I don't have to be or go anywhere today so I'm chilling out at home on the computer and very very slowly starting to pick at some actual work stuff. Who'da thunk I'd actually be glad to have some browser compatibility CSS crap to worry at? Not I, said the cat, but LOL, there you go. (As for physically returning, I think it's more than fair to say not until I can comfortably wear underpants again!) I may wobble on up to the post office later too, just to get out in the warm fall weather for at least a little bit, and it's just up the street so the walk won't be very taxing at all. The leaves are falling in earnest now, and the dry rattle of them drifting down the street in the breeze is a happy sound indeed.
kjpepper: (looking down)
It's always painful when you get cheerfully reminded by various electronic mediums that x person's birthday is today... when x person no longer walks the realm of the living.

I miss you, [livejournal.com profile] mornhyland. Happy birthday.
kjpepper: (random (potterpuffs))
hey [livejournal.com profile] reverendtom...

In other news, fuck you, global warming. I swear, two days after a) we get our heat fixed and b) I decide it's time to pull down the storm in my room? 76 degrees F! We're in the bottom half of October for crying out loud! I't not supposed to get above 65, damn it! Argh!
kjpepper: (WoL&O)

*dies and is completely and sincerely ded*

Oh gods, I heart Sesame Street. I knew this existed, but this is the first time I'm actually SEEING it. I always thought Richard Belzer and Chris Meloni kinda looked like muppets anyway.

"You know, that 'chung-chung'-ing can really get on one's nerves." AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

btw... hugs and butt-pinches to [livejournal.com profile] bluewindkitsune cause

Holy fuck I'm a self-indulgent dumbass. Hey [livejournal.com profile] htl_1126,

I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you earlier when I saw you at the movies!

Actually I've been so intent on staring up my own ass lately that I've pretty much forgotten all y'all who have had birthdays in November. So to [livejournal.com profile] anzovin, [livejournal.com profile] timarok, [livejournal.com profile] bellarisa, [livejournal.com profile] extrajoker, [livejournal.com profile] rhipowered, and [livejournal.com profile] birkwelch

*sigh* so yeah, I've been doing I suppose the backwards version of navel gazing this month I think... and it's kinda getting past the point where "wedding" is no longer a good excuse. Blargh. Really I just need to confront the fact that I'm fast becoming an antisocial old biddy. Seriously, the only reason the amoeba even sees me these days is because the Internets are over here in the form of [livejournal.com profile] anzovin's laptop. If I had a computer I'd never leave the bolthole. Honestly there are days when that fact doesn't bother me, and that bothers me. :) Interesting conundrum, no?

Seriously though - I do need a new compy. Something capable of running WoW well enough so that I no longer have to strategically plan flightpaths and money around avoiding IF like the plague, cause the Commons has bluescreen-of-death'ed [livejournal.com profile] anzovin's laptop enough times so that if I HAVE to go in there I use [livejournal.com profile] morlock's machine.

Meh. In other news... tomorrow I have my lone honest-to-goodness day off this weekend. It's sort of amazing how knowing you have to work later on can really condemn a day to sheer pissiness. I know it doesn't have to, but I kinda woke up in a bad mood and it just sorta continued on into the rest of the day, just sort of this solipsistic cycle of feeling sorry for myself and moping about stuff, at one point badly enough to make me fall asleep and nearly miss the bus to get to work. Lucky for me, there was much about today to distract me from my own head:

  • I watched The Wiz this afternoon. *chuckle* Okay, I've seen it perhaps ten million times but it had been years since the last time. Long enough for me to notice things I hadn't before (like how did I miss that Michael Jackson's nose was made out of a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup wrapper? wait, isn't it still?), long enough to have forgotten how much Diana Ross got on my last gay nerve (as opposed to the straight ones) throughout it, and how much the little flute tune that accompanies the homeless peddler still scares the shit out of me even though I'm grown up. Also I don't think I've watched it since 9/11 - the bit in the "Emerald City" got me in the "Aw." spot. Good times... and "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News" still makes me smile. A lot.

  • I now possess Fanfare Cioc─ârlia's "Asfalt Tango." Fabulousness. I need to do some belly dance to it. I also need to get the Borat soundtrack, because their cover of" Born to Be Wild" is high-larious. All classic rock should be covered by 12 piece Gypsy brass bands. In Romanian. Yes.

  • I saw [livejournal.com profile] htl_1126, [livejournal.com profile] drklord1922 and the other Jason at the theater while I was working. And [livejournal.com profile] drklord1922 said the reason my line was so long is because everyone wanted to be helped by the prettiest girl in concessions. Blush.

  • Ran into [livejournal.com profile] myburningviolin on break in the food court, where we had a war council/bitch session about the horrors of retail.

  • Brian G. gave me a lift home after closing. Actually I wasn't supposed to work until close tonight, but since the buses are on the let's screw Andee out of getting home at a reasonable hour schedule, I offered to stay until close in exchange for the ride. Which worked out because one of the people actually scheduled to close got to leave and thus did not miss his girlfriend performing in Rocky Horror tonight.

  • On said ride home, I was introduced to Disturbed's cover of Genesis' "Land of Confusion." OMG. I must have that song. I mean, okay, don't kill me but I really do like the original (yes, I willingly listen to Phil Collins, stfu) but Disturbed covering that song is made of so much awesome it's sick. *chuckle* see, that's another thing - if i had a 5G ipod, I would love to trade with Brian G for a couple of days. His taste in music seems to be exactly as messed up as mine is, with the exception that he runs more to metal where I run more to goth/industrial, but the rest of the stuff is pretty congruent.

  • I came home to find [livejournal.com profile] sundart waiting up for me. I am asquee with the lovins.

So yeah... I just have to remember that it really isn't all bad most of the time. I've just been in very negative headspace lately and it's hard to shake that. I need to though - lately I've even lost my will to write... and you know if I'm not constantly bitching into LJ, something's really wrong.

So sleepy. Off to toss my carcass into a bed.
kjpepper: (sweeties)
A good weekend was had by all I think.

FRIDAY: Took the day off, as it was Sunny's birthday plus there were other goings on afoot. We got up early so we could go home and sunny could make her vegan orange cake (I know, I know - trust me, it's actually really good.) Though it wasn't as grandiose as originally planned due to a baking mishap, it came out very tasty and the orange marmalade sun in the middle surrounded by homemade chocolate icing was very pretty.

I also got a package from [livejournal.com profile] carolatina containing a hot-off-the-press book about Crohn's Disease! Thanks, babe.

Late that afternoon I hauled [livejournal.com profile] morlock out of the house so that [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat and co could set the house up for his surprise birthday party. We went on our long overdue date to Interskate 91, where we both somewhat damaged our abilities in the walking department, though only I fell down - and I was the one more confident on skates! :) but I had enough fun to realize that I miss skating of any stripe. Not to mention that it's a bit boggling that I have a pair of original issue Rollerblades that a) still fit perfectly b) are in more or less mint condition. Afterward we went to Laser Storm and mostly [livejournal.com profile] morlock shot the hell out of these two kids that were playing. Very fun, even if I can't aim.

Then we came home and I followed [livejournal.com profile] morlock upstairs on pretenses that syd and I were going to give him his present... which was technically true, as we'd gotten him a deep fryer from both of us. But I think it was the living room full of people that he noticed first. Especially since they were all yelling "SURPRISE" for some odd reason. (He was. Quite.) Cue presents, chicken, alcohol and Muppet Show, season one. Jesus the 70s. So much crack and LSD... you can so tell.

SATURDAY: I think this was the day I sorta chilled out and didn't do much of anything other than read. I've started to notice lately that my recent warcrack habit is killing me in the wrist department, so I think Saturday I pretty much lolled around and read quite a bit. I finished Obsidian Butterfly and A History of Violence. (both were very good, I now want to see the viggo mortenson movie.) That and at one point I think I went upstairs and took a long ass nap with [livejournal.com profile] morlock, and then I cooked dinner for the family. There was also the post Arkham diner trip at midnight, which I enjoy going to even though I'm not part of the larp. Despite the greater efforts of some folk.

SUNDAY: was fun, cause I got [livejournal.com profile] morlock's birthday present, which was a trip to the Natick LEGO store. (yep, my boyfriend took me to the mall for my birthday cause I asked him to. :) ) Not much was on the wall unfortunately that could directly benefit the model I was working on, but there was stuff for my other model that I was working on before that one, so I did end up picking up a pile of useful bricks and some baseboards. I'm going to have to remember that a large cup of legos costs 12.95 - that's a LOT of legos for not all that much. The trick is finding the useful ones. :) We then escaped the OMG YELLOW for the rest of a mall and found a cavernous Goth-in-a-box that was playing Red Hot Chili Peppers instead of really bad industrial (boggle!!!) and that actually had the night elf /dance shirt that I've been drooling at for a while. [livejournal.com profile] morlock also got something made of awesome, but I think he'd kill me if I told. ;) I can tell that he now has an alliance sticker on his bumper - I keep telling him that one day he's going to come back and his car will be drenched in orc or tauren pee.

Throughout the weekend much with the weddingthing craziness... decor to shop for and order, people to harass if we don't get their postcards TODAY (jeez, people) and I have to make some calls today... life progresses I guess, at the usual 300 mph.
kjpepper: (brat)
So here's how the birthday whorage will work. There are three things I would really like to have:

1) Legos for my project. It looks like I might actually finish the model, virtually anyway. Problem is as of 9/12 I'm already up to 6000 bricks. and I still have a storey and a half to go. Plus a wrap around porch. yeah. I'm averaging about a nickel a brick, give or take 2 cents. It adds up.

2) I do need to replace Beavis. I'd like to replace him with something schway... or at least something that will run WoW and and render complicated Bryce landscapes simultaneously. Ok ok. At least run WoW.

3) I do want to make sure that C's and my weddingthing is as kickass as possible, so flinging more money in that direction wouldn't hurt anything either. :)

These are all pretty big ticket items, so here's how it works. Tell me what I should get, then throw some money at me via Paypal by clicking on Zim and Gir. (a nickel will get me a brick, and I'll engrave your name on it... j/k). Whatever gets the most votes, that's what I'll spend the birthday money on.

[Poll #819481]

This entry will stay up until 10/14. comments and poll are screened.
kjpepper: (trebek WTF)
Arg so tired, so much WORK to do - crap, maybe I shouldn't have taken tomorrow off. Nah. but I'm definitely getting mondo coffee when I post this - today's going to require copious amounts of caffiene and industrial music to get through.

LOST... I'm kinda with [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah on this one - The Others are getting more annoying than intriguing. (Though that bit with the Red Sox was friggin brilliant). But I'll be glad when it goes back to "meanwhile, back at the ranch" next week and we get back to what happened to the characters I actually care about (ie, enough with Kate and Jack and Sawyer already.) I think a good bit of my annoyance is that I'm actually watching it on TV for real this time, which means only one new ep a week. I'm kinda used to the at least 3 at a time marathons.

I find it terribly adorable that both my sweeties have birthdays within a day of each other. (well, technically, they're a year apart, but amusingly enough they're both younger than me so nyeh!) anyways, to my darling [livejournal.com profile] morlock:

And as if the gods knew, the bash.org feed finally got repaired last night, so in quick celebration, here are the ones that made me snrrrk a lot.

Madrigal: I have DSL
Madrigal: Which backwards is "LSD"
Madrigal: But for my sake, and the sake of being backwards, I'd rather get Dial.

what is the volume of a pizza of radius z and thickness a ?
answer: pi z z a

Every girl who has ever been attracted to me is a vegetarian!
Try to explain that!
you have no meat
I did not see that coming
Last time I tell that story!

caffiene, then back to work. Oh gods, so much work.
kjpepper: (Default)
Oh well, it was a good one. Started with the midnight showing of the Lost Boys (no no no, cry little sister was NOT written by the sisters of mercy damn it!) which was fabulousy 80s bad. Ah Corey feldman.

All sorts of goodness today, really. pancakes and cupcakes from a betty crocker box, iced and jimmied to perfection (thank you sundart)... a pretty purple glass bead necklace (also ty sundart), me looking sexy all day (belly dance choli's are totally everyday wear, but maybe not on chilly october evenings), good food at Deb and V's wedding party type thing, and more good food and wedding monies at htl_1126 and drklord1922's... anzovin taking my bike in so I may actually get to ride bellenoire again before it snows... free slice of sicilian pie since C from cinemark was working when I came in... a gorgeous and soft aqua scarf and bertucci's rolls from sydneycat, and my character got a present from morlock's character in Warcrack - I have a mechanical squirrel now!

yay birthday. :) and now, OMG sleep
kjpepper: (the web)

Happy Birthday!!!

we miss you up here in the valley - and have you looked up [livejournal.com profile] innostrantsa yet?
