I made the icon because someone else was squeeing about Baby Chekov in [livejournal.com profile] rhipowered's journal and I had to join in. He really is damned cute. I want to grab him by all of that insane curly hair and do very very bad things to him.

In other news, quiet day today - spent it watching the second episode of Rome (which is excellent, btw) and meticulously plotting my trip for next weekend. I'm still utterly terrified by the prospect of doing this, but the planning is helping take the edge off, and it's actually kinda fun scoping out rest stops and gas stations with Google Maps/Earth. I'm not supposed to sit and drive for too long at a stretch due to the whole clotting thing, so I'm roughly trying to plot out one stop every hourish, give or take. Also an hour is roughly about when my attention starts wandering from driving, so that seems to be a good way of breaking it up. I also find it funny that I'm planning based on locations of Dunks/Starbucks, as I'm pretty sure I'm going to need/want the constant influx of coffee to maintain the adrenaline... and if I'm going to be drinking that much coffee, I'm going to need to stop about once every hour anyway. What's also going to be fun is the seven hourish drive from Maryland to Massachusetts. D: Luckily that trip, route wise, will be easy - three interstates. 81 to 84 to 91. Actual trip wise, we'll see. I hate 84, it is probably the second most boring stretch of road I've ever been on. Feh. Of the entire road trip cha cha, I think the bit I'm looking the most forward to AND dreading the most would be taking the Merritt Parkway back through CT from MA. I love that drive, and I'm rather excited about the idea of taking it by myself, even through I know there are a couple of bits of it that have scared everyone I've directed onto it. Well, we'll see how it goes. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and make sure this idea is even remotely feasable.

No plans really for tonight, other than doing a little cleaning/straightening, drinking some coffee and doing a bit of work/life catchup. Feel free to IM/TM me and make sure I'm actually doing productive things, lol.
kjpepper: (Joel McHale)
Because the the old click picture was five inches of dreads ago, and I was starting to hate my previous default picture... plus... I don't know, how weird is it that when I have a hard day I cheer myself up by taking my own picture?

Also, I'm amused that the icon I'm talking about isn't the icon for this post. You'll see the other one enough. Trust me. Besides Joel McHale needs the Soupy Friday lovin'.

as an aside, goddamn, I've got way to many everything accounts. I recently decided that I wanted all my default icons/profile pics to match. (I get OCD about the weirdest things I swear...) which means I have to change the picture in like 17 places:

....yeah.sometimes I'm astounded by my own silliness.

bedtime now I think.

kjpepper: (seriously? (Barnabus))
Because one hour long premiere and one episode in, I already <3 Barnabus and his carefully controlled, constant exasperation SO HARD. You really want to give him a hug, a good shag, a flagon of mead and whatever the medieval equivelant of Valium is after a day of dealing with Chancellor Dongalor.
kjpepper: (Sugalumps)
I found a program that pulls frames out of Youtube videos.

...oh, I am going to have FUN with this shit. *cackle*

a) WTF, LJ seems to be having some trouble in the icon department.

b) so I'm doing some database level changes to one of the sites we manage just cause it's easier for me to do them with SQL queries than through the CMS... Each section of the web site is assigned a category, and each category has a numeric index, right?

As I was punching in queries I suddenly noticed which categories I happened to be working with this morning... 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42.

And on a Wednesday, too.

kjpepper: (THE HAT)
I'm not sure which is scarier/funnier - the fact that Aretha's Inauguration Hat has officially entered the realm of meme legend (I'm waiting for the clip of Rick Astley "wearing" it) or that I seem to be totally rocking it in the icon.

ETA: damn it [livejournal.com profile] kshandra, why'd you have to remind me these existed? lol

kjpepper: (abi station coffee)
[livejournal.com profile] firinel sent me the watercolor she did of me about a month back! Thank you, babe, it's beautiful. *mwah* PS everyone, she also did an amazing watercolor of Obama and (i think) is still offering prints of it.

I must say, I'm really really liking my new abi-station icon. I was really not sold on the fact that I didn't really like their take on dreads at first, but they've definitely grown on me since. Plus it's happy me with a coffee cup. :)

kjpepper: (kind hearted woman)
toying with the idea of having aku on my left shoulder and this on my right.

For those who don't know... a drawing of a smiling cat, sometimes with a heart drawn with or inside it, is the hobo sign for "a kind hearted woman lives here." In other words (or just in words, period), tell the lady of this house the right story and you just may score a free dinner.

It's seeming more and more like the story of my life.

No, not aimed at anyone in particular, I promise. And most of the time I like being that person. But today I'm a little sad about it is all... These days especially, I could use a free dinner or twelve myself. :P
kjpepper: (sexxy)
In amongst the seventillion things I have to do this weekend, I must find time to get laced into my corset** and take a picture of my cleavage. I am feeling the lack of a good "HOLYCRAPBOOBS" icon. I mean, this one's good, but I need something that'll poke your eye out if you look at it wrong.

Just sayin'.

** or maybe [livejournal.com profile] sundart's, her stays aren't quite as worn out as mine are. Hey, when ten years and several size fluctuations you survive, cinch as good you will not.

This picture of Mariska Hargitay was too damn cute to not make an icon.
kjpepper: (nyeh! demongo)
[Error: unknown template qotd]

I always found it kinda nice that user icons are presented in the order in which they were added. Alas, my first userpic isn't there. But this one's roughly contemporary to it. It's a Samurai Jack villain named Demongo taunting like a five year old.

My default icon is always either a picture of me or a very close graphical representation. I do this because I believe the words mean more somehow if you can associate a face with them, plus it's my way of saying "why yes, there is a living, thinking person physically tapping out these words on a keyboard, not a figment of someone's imagination or an internet construct of some sort." And you know, some days (like alternate Thursdays in a month beginning on a Monday) I clean up good enough to grudgingly agree that yes, I'm kinda hot.

This one, quite obviously, is me making an iPod ad out of a photo of myself. In reality I despise earbuds and wouldn't be caught dead wearing them - I quite prefer big squashy studio headphones that block external noise and are bigger than my head. (The ones in the picture are 'shopped.) Just a sort of testament as to how music is coming back into my life with a vengeance.

kjpepper: (flying naked)
All things considered it's about bloody time I had a WoW icon (or two).
kjpepper: (wrong)
So. New Icon.

Explanation: OMGWTFBBQ??? )

So of course I had to make fun of it. )
kjpepper: (underpants!)
This userpic is just WRONG. aaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahaha (prolly not so much with the work safe)
kjpepper: (HA HA HA dead)
okay, so I didn't get my hair done like I was meaning to all day. *sigh* Oh well. It was a productive day anyways. I cleaned up both my laptop hard drive and C's and my shared drive (I highly recommend NoClone - so many damned duplicated pictures and mp3s!!! Mostly better now.). C and I went through all my boxes of crud, threw shit out, and repacked them... I made dinner for the whole family, and just for poops and hahas, made that Vizzini icon I'd been meaning to make since, oh, January sometime.

Still... damn, sometimes weekends are way too short.

In other news... gah, you know it's a good SVU episode when by the time the "executive producer: Dick Wolf" card is displayed you have a visceral need to take a shower. Yeeeghhoogie.
