I did indeed manage to drag myself out into the pretty weather armed with camera. Took a bunch of pictures around the park and in one of the nearby subway stations. Front page picture on LJ finally updated for summer, whew!

I like that picture the best out of the lot.

Also damn. Note to self, if ego boost is needed concerning personal attractiveness, go for a walk in flatbush in a tight shirt. I got hit on today to the point of annoyance.

[livejournal.com profile] firinel sent me the watercolor she did of me about a month back! Thank you, babe, it's beautiful. *mwah* PS everyone, she also did an amazing watercolor of Obama and (i think) is still offering prints of it.

I must say, I'm really really liking my new abi-station icon. I was really not sold on the fact that I didn't really like their take on dreads at first, but they've definitely grown on me since. Plus it's happy me with a coffee cup. :)

So the plan is to eventually rearrange my room.

This turned into an excuse to measure things.

This then turned into an excuse to make and model things in Bryce, which I haven't done in like a decade.

This then made me sulk about my lack of wide-angle lens for the Hatemonger.

But yeah. Nowhere near done, but here are some preliminaries.

yeah. my room's a mess. Gonna clean it when it's not as hot out.

In other news, my cell phone seems to bought the farm. Grr. So anyone trying to grab me by phone, that's why it's going direct to VM.

...and now I have various snippets of REO Speedwagon songs wedged into my head. Thank you SO much [livejournal.com profile] nounsandverbs and [livejournal.com profile] purpura. It's especially bad because my very first experience with REO Speedwagon was "in your letter" by way of the Jane Fonda Workout album my sister used to worship as her personal fitness god when I was a kid, so I can't ever hear it without hearing "AND CIRCLE 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and BACK 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 PALMS UP 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 AND SCISSOR! SCISSOR SCISSOR SCISSOR now STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETCH FEEL THE BURN." Seriously, double your trauma double your fun.

Tonight's other internet cooties:

Jorge Garcia's blog (LJ Feed: an LJ feed). AKA Hurley from LOST. Funny stuff.

What in Satan's red and spicy Hades is up with the cranes falling off high rises in NYC? CUT THAT OUT THIS INSTANT.

I leave you with the fact that Prince finds you funny looking and squicky.

Today started out gray and ick and I suppose waking up in a foul mood didn't help things. A bunch of us were supposed to go to the Pride parade this morning and at first I really didn't feel like going: [livejournal.com profile] sundart managed to convince me. So five of us holed up atop the railroad bridge spanning Rt. 9 not far from the house, and watched the festivities from there.

I really need to take the hatemonger for walkies more - I still haven't quite gotten the hang of configuring the white balance for outside shots yet, and as a result, a bunch of these got pretty washed out (I took like 200 of them; note to self - go two or three notches DOWN from what the monitor says). Also, I need a better zoom lens, damn it. Still, got some fun pictures out of it nonetheless.

Cut for lots of non dialup safe and in some cases eyebleedingly colorful LGBTAness )

Just playing around...

I seem to be on an extreme close up/small subject/random things on my desk still life jag. This morning I woke up thinking about a conversation I was having with Dad about being on Coumadin/Warfarin (he's also on it for a heart valve problem) and on a whim decided to tip my bottle over and photograph it.

and then I started messing with it in photoshop )

There truly are worse ways to cope with one's condition than to sit and try to make art out of it.

And now for something completely different! )

breakfast now, methinks.

Peace Pagoda was accomplished, as was some driving. No one's dead, though there's a snowbank in Sunderland that probably has a scrape and some tire tracks in it... Fucking driving. Fucking left turns. nyeeeearrrrgh.

had a bit of a camera calibration issue when I'd gotten up there, not to mention low battery, so I only managed to squeeze off a few good ones today. (luckily there are craptons of pictures from the last time we went.) And there are a couple of good ones... )

I don't know... so much personal and professional stress all up in my head (not to mention residual "ohshitiwasjustdrivingohshitohshitgottadoitmoarohshitohshit" happening) that this time I didn't feel all that peaceful while there. Low level freaked was more like it.

Came home, played WoW, watched bad TV. And took yet another picture of yet another cat sleeping in yet another pile of my laundry yet again. Happens more around here than you'd think.

My walk home tonight )

There are geeky Negroes downstairs playing Guitar Hero. I must return and heckle them. Plus there are pork chops. Dead thing. Mmm.
