Just echoing a point made in other people's journals... pro-life people that support the death penalty (including the murder of Dr. Tiller)?

(note&disclaimer - I'm not pro-life and I'm not against the idea that certain people need to die. But the hypocrisy surrounding this boggles the mind.)

  • I did decide to give up a few things and add a few things for Lent, with the Sundays off bit to make the chunk of time more manageable. I think I can do six days at a time, 45 is a bit much to ask of little Ms. ADD over here, lol. More about what and why later. Side note: [livejournal.com profile] jaicat, your suggestion was a good one. I'll take it under consideration.

  • I hate [livejournal.com profile] cell23 eternally for the following commentary on the State of the Union address last night:

    The wonderful thing about Pelosis
    Are Pelosis are wonderful things
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs
but the most wonderful thing about Pelosis

Um yeah. That woman had springs somewhere, the way she kept popping up to applaud. By the end of the speech Biden was giving her the stinkeye.

  • I love Phil dearly, yes I do, but having to give him the quick and dirty version of the past year hurt like hell. There are going to be a lot of shocked, almost betrayed faces of old friends and acquaintances who aren't all up in my internet business when they hear C and I aren't together anymore. It really is like the end of an era. Believe me people, I'm not happy about it either.

  • ETA: no, sorry to say, still loathe regular yogurt. :P I try it every once in a while to make sure and promptly want to scoop out my tongue with a melonballer. Back to my O'Soy, kthx.

Tonight: moar packing and cleaning, some writing assignments to catch up on... yeah, I think that's it.

ETA2: Adopt one today!Adopt one today!Adopt one today!

While I still love rickrolling from the bottom of my little black heart, I was good and ready to accept /meme at the Macy's Parade.

Nancy Pelosi... really? Don't you have better things to do?

Where did they find this kid??? I wonder if they have a little Keith Olbermann floating around somewhere.

This is a thought provoking read about how Michelle's portrayal in the media has tended to ignore her numerous professional accomplishments and focus instead on her more traditional (and therefore less Hillaryesque threatening) roles as mother and fashion maven.

It's gonna be really interesting to see what she makes of being First Lady.

I'm sorry I'm posting a lot of political crap lately... I guess I don't really wanna talk about me all that much right now.

This is worth a giggle though. Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] political_macro.

Is Keith Olbermann... crying? Wow.

Damn, son. Tell us how you really feel about Prop 8.

(and pay no attention to the black girl behind the curtain sniffling.)

Despite the irritation about its passing and the post election kerfuffle wherein several high profile people blamed the black community for passing it (not getting into that argument again though) I'm rather encouraged about the prospect of it being overturned, and pleasantly surprised that Conan the Republican has reversed his stance on it. I'm also kinda heartened by the nationwide outrage... makes me think that this whole gruling election year isn't just a fluke and most of the country anyway is indeed ready for a change. But again, I'd like to point out that being ready for a change means being willing to go out and make one, not just rest on our laurels and expect Obama to do all the work for us. Still trying to figure out what my personal contribution to changing the world is, but I tell you, I haven't been more inspired to make one than I have in the past week or so!

Symposium was interesting and informative for the most part. Glad Sunny dragged us both there. Especially as it afforded me a bit of driving practice this morning, and herself some on the way back.

I WAS all looking forward to signing on and killing stuff this afternoon but the WoW account management site is STILL DOWN. The fuck. I must be missing something. Oh well. Shot an email over to Blizzard Support, though I can't imagine they don't already know about it. Guess I'll be doing productive things instead this afternoon. Maybe.

In meme news, this yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] firinel:

We welcome supporters of gay rights to snap your own photo showing your wedding ring on your middle finger. Spread the word that this fight isn’t over. Whether you’re gay, straight, bi, white, blue or tan — show your support by letting freedom ring on your blog! Please forward this page to any friends and family who may find it of interest.

Damn, my hands are pretty elegant in their vulgar fuckoffitude. I'm not sure how helpful this sort of thing is, but I do like the idea and the juxtaposition of a wedding ring and a raised middle finger, so Rawr, and don't tell me who I can marry* and whatnot.

Well, off to find some way of dispensing with my afternoon.

* views on legal marriage not withstanding. Nope, not gonna get into it now or here.

Completely shallow, but I must say I'm very much enjoying the fact that the administration so far is skewing foxy.

cut for large, extremely slashy pic of Obama and Emanuel )

I mean, even Biden is good looking in an overly friendly creepy uncle sort of way. He probably had it 20 years ago. Still even now, he looks like sex on legs compared to the male members of the current administration.

I for one welcome our new GQ overlords. *throws panties*
kjpepper: (fear my moustache)
that huge ass political meme graphic currently messing up my friends page. Cut cause I'm a nice person. )

Yeah. Falling over and dying from not surprise here.
