kjpepper: (yay jesus)

  • Port Authority has surprisingly clean floors.

  • Times Square gets more garish with each passing year and while I am the rare person that remembers and kinda misses the seediness of the Deuce, I do admit that the area now has a certain freakish, seizure inducing beauty.

  • [livejournal.com profile] 11th_letter is the goddess of well timed sarcasm, keeper of the good vodka and creator of really really yummy beef stew. As always to you and the House of Harmony, thank you for having me.

  • methinks i need to start waking up early on Saturdays again, just to eat disgusting cereal (cause i can! I is ADULT!) and watch cartoons.

  • KNIGHT RIDER ZOMG. And they actually look like they're doing it right. Holy shit.

  • Giant Robot anime. Used to hate it like burning burning flames flames on the side of my face. Now I find myself needing to watch the rest of Godannar and Gravion. I curse the name of [livejournal.com profile] bluewindkitsune.

  • I'm still a cheap ass drunk. I also still always manage to underestimate the power of neat vodka. It's kinda pitiful really, 3 shots should not make me that unbelievably silly.

    • on the other hand, being drunk does have its advantages. Example: when slipping and falling flat on your ass on an icy patch, you don't hurt yourself because you just sorta flop gracelessly down in a heap rather than tensing all your muscles and then hurting something.

    • Chanting "Come on Jimmy come on Jimmy suck it down for Sally" is probably not a good way to get a ticket machine to process one's debit card faster. Especially not when other people can hear you and give you funny looks. BTW, bright shiny nickel for getting the reference. You may use the icon for a hint.

    • Ever ridden a train while any measure of drunk? WHEEE.

  • How in the nine hells did people manage to commute anywhere without the Secaucus Junction?? I mean... I remember when it wasn't there. It only got built like five years ago. What the blessed fuck did we do before? (yeah yeah, I know, go to Hoboken, ride the PATH...) Between the Midtown Direct and the Secaucus Junction it's kind of a wonder the PATH still exists.

  • Sorta, but not really yoinking an idea from [livejournal.com profile] _kyri... in a half assed sort of way I'm going to try to do Project 365... meaning I'm going to try to take at least a picture I like a day, but not going to stress overmuch if I miss a day. Anyway some picspam for the last few days:

1/3/08 - Me trying on sundart's blue dress. I like the light in this one and the expression on my face. Could have been framed a bit better, but for a hold-the-camera-over-my-head-and-press-the-shutter shot, it really isn't bad.

1/5/08 - Atlantic Ave. Pretty much exactly what it says here. I was just playing around waiting for the Q train home, and I liked the composition of this one. Makes the platform look a little more desolate and claustrophobic than it actually is (it was actually fairly crowded, believe it or not) and I like the contrast between the mosaic lettering on the wall and the standard subway typeface.

1/5/08 - Dad, being the king of his castle. I was mostly just demonstrating the Hatemonger's ability to take a reasonably good shot in low light (the picture is lying, the House is actually way dimmer than that). Pretty much I took this picture and then showed it to him immediately just cause I like astounding him with technology. (She blinded him with SCIENCE!!! Doo doo doo doooo) I'm sorry this shot ended up out of focus, because I really like how regal and dignified Dad looks even when lounging about in his pjs and watching the debates on TV. I'm not surprised, considering I could hear how long the shutter stayed open when I shot it. Gods, I need a tripod.

  • Dad is really pleased to see me. I definitely need to come home a little more often I think... I forget how much I like making the old man smile.

  • oh thank the gods for leftover Christmas soda. It's like the only time I can find anything I consider remotely potable around here *guzzles Pepsi*

  • Done with bullet points nau.

The plan for tomorrow... see if I can sleep... see if I have the time and inclination to get that Christmas tree down (signs point to no), but not stress overmuch if I don't (since Dad has people in three or four times a week to help with errands and chores - he already said he could get one of them to do it if I don't), hang out with Dad for a bit and convince him that I don't really have time to stop at J&R on my way out of town. Bless the man, he's all appalled that I don't have a proper case to carry the Hatemonger around in. *chuckle* we actually had a fun conversation about camera lenses and brand loyalty... Dad's been a Nikon man since he brought home his first one from Japan in the 50s (and it's still around somewhere... i've seen it), and he still has and uses his old F3. But back to the plan... go the hell home is somewhere on that list. Nothing says home sweet home like being reassimilated into an Amoeba. :) eh, [livejournal.com profile] lostcircuit? *hugs*

Note to self - add Tori Amos' "Leather" to that mix you're working on... Wow. I'm so damn happy I've rediscovered all of my music...
