kjpepper: (quiet me (hatter))
[personal profile] kjpepper
I first heard this song in Eric's car on my way to the work-thing last week, and I had to fight back tears the entire time it was on.

I just heard it again. Same thing, except I don't have to fight them anymore.

(for those of you like "yeah yeah, that song's been around forever and I'm sick of it" I apologize. I don't listen to the radio much.)

Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are

I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart

Tell me your secrets
And nurse me your questions
Oh let's go back to the start

Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on a silence apart

Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard

Oh take me back to the start

I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling your puzzles apart

Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start

Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

I'm going back to the start

So, I should load this, The Pogues' Love You 'till the End from last week, The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony, Willie Nelson's Always on my Mind and Rufus Wainwright's version of Hallelujah, put them on repeat and have myself some tearwater tea... actually, I can think of about a CD's worth of music that makes me cry. Hmm... d'oh, no time tonight for mix making...
