2008 Northampton Pride

kjpepperToday started out gray and ick and I suppose waking up in a foul mood didn't help things. A bunch of us were supposed to go to the Pride parade this morning and at first I really didn't feel like going: ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sundart managed to convince me. So five of us holed up atop the railroad bridge spanning Rt. 9 not far from the house, and watched the festivities from there.
I really need to take the hatemonger for walkies more - I still haven't quite gotten the hang of configuring the white balance for outside shots yet, and as a result, a bunch of these got pretty washed out (I took like 200 of them; note to self - go two or three notches DOWN from what the monitor says). Also, I need a better zoom lens, damn it. Still, got some fun pictures out of it nonetheless.
Amoeba!!! me,anzovin, sundart, unfolded_cranes, lostcircuit in front. Missing: sydneycat and morlock, who both had to work today. :(

So many kids this year! Makes me sorta wish there was a glbta group at UNIS when I was growing up. There's one now, but I kinda wish there was then, you know? I would have been in it.

This chickie and the lady in the sidecar actually led up the front of the parade, doubled back, and ended it. I took their pic at the front as well, but this pic came out better.

The one with the truck looks like it's a Bacardi promoter? Dunno...maybe it was Diva's?
The picture of the Catholic parents seriously almost made me cry...dunno why. It just made me happy.
I love that so many church groups come out for Pride in general.

A friend of mine was denied adoption of an dog because "Also young cairns are high energy dogs and need lots of walks to burn off their energy if they will be living in an apartment setting and it is our impression that you are looking for a dog that does not require many walks."
I realize it's fairly ambiguous out of context, but it really was a case of "We think your too fat to care for this dog."
I've been saying for a while that fat is the new black... but not in the fashion sense.
