Explain to me why I don't make it to Haven more often?

Because every time I do manage to overcome the lazies enough to dress up and go I always come home tired, glowy and very very happy I went. I've always loved the we-don't-give-a-shit-we're-just-here-to-have-a-good-time-and-dance-to-stompy-boot-music vibe of the place - actually it's one of the few places in the valley I've found in the last decade+ that's pretty consistant on the overflow of positive energy. I find it scary that over the course of what, 12 years? I've gone from being pretty much a wide eyes eyeliner wannabe slam dancing in the corner and then running home to read the week's Haven review on the then active pvgoth listserv to being one of those "old people that probably don't have lives" I used to kinda stare at cockeyed way back in the beginning, lol.

The fact that my desk is covered in shards of red plastic and parts of the bathroom looked like the scene of a murder after the room was sprayed with luminol and that I spent a good 30 bucks I didn't really have today on the enterprise = well worth it. Glow stick guts, by the way, are oily, thick and honestly kinda neat, cause it stains you (and everything else) radioactive. It looks way cooler in glass vials than in plastic sticks too. You know, in case y'alls wanna make yourself some zydrate. But hey, I won stuff for my efforts! I have the Pre-surgery sampler on CD now, and a Geneco Wanted notice out for the Graverobber signed by the guy who plays him in the movie (and wrote the opera, actually). We'll ignore the fact that there were only three of us competing in the Repo contest by the time it was held... and if the chick who'd dressed up as Pavi Largo had stuck around, she would have had it, probably. I still won shit. Yay! After which, I gave the bottle with the most glow left to the chickie that dressed up as Amber Sweet. She was amused.

Also saw lysscat and Cara and Pax while I was there, yay! lysscat looked damned adorable in her pleather Stephanie from Lazytown outfit, even if it was roasting her alive to be in it. :D

And now... shower and then omg bed. I've already been up for 21 hours straight, and I'm not gonna get much tonight at this rate...

I'm so happy you won stuff! Hot wig + heavy braids + some douchebag's cologne meant that I left early with a headache. But I would totally have cheered for you, your outfit rocked. :x)

I've become incredibly obsessed with Graverobber since you posted the Zydrate video. Okay, so with the entirety of Repo!


I never went to Haven during my time at Smith. The normal SSFFS geek crowd that went/still goes said it would be too weird to see me all gothed or punked up. Now, granted, I mostly had a fuckton of homework on Haven night and the headache to go with it, but I feel I should have gone just once to see what it was like.
