kjpepper: (winter holiday)

This is the most recalcitrant batch of eggs so far. 60ish clicks so far (thank you [livejournal.com profile] dragonspam2) and not even a crack. Come on guys.

It seems to be the day for customizing Your Internet experience or something. This week I added a couple of new plugins to Firefox. I am most pleased with Snap Links- you draw a box around a bunch of links and it opens all of them in separate unfocused tabs. Makes being a member of aforementioned comm much easier, and I'm sure I'll find some practical use for it later.

I leave tomorrow on my whirlwind tour of New York state. I haven't even conceptualized packing yet, let alone the fact that I'm going to be gone for a week. On the other hand, after Iget back I will then be thoroughly within my rights to annoy all and sundry with carols. Really I could do that now - It's not the holidays until they start running tha ancient Hershey's commercial withe the kisses as handbells playing We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and I saw that for the first time yesterday, which made me about dance for joy. Still have yet to see a Hess truck commercial, though the trucks themselves have been out for a couple weeks now. BULLDOZER FTW.

Reading Kushiel's Mercy, even though I cracked about a month ago and read the Wikipedia plot summary for it. Should be interesting... and weird. Seems like from what I read, Carey took a hard left with this one in order to be new and different, so I'm going to remain dubious until I finish reading it.

One more day of work... then... I dunno. Go home, clean my room, pack, run around and do the few chores that need to be done before I leave, don't sleep, whatever?

I think Carey should have ended the Kushiels series after the third book. It's not like I hated the others, and I love the world and missed the characters...but the story was done. Complete.

I agree with you. there was no real need to go back there. I'm basically thinking of the first three as the grand epic movie and the the second three as the not-quite-as-good TV series. I enjoy Imriel as a character, though, possibly even more than I enjoyed Phedre, and I can't say I'm not glad she decided to write more of his story.

I think that's a perfect way of thinking of it.
Indeed, I believe I shall steal that and claim it as my own.
