New Years

...was nice and quiet, and I managed to get a couple of things accomplished. Mainly the hair. The good news about New Years is if you're not into football, there's always the marathons of random shows, like Monk. Never seen it before. Watched two episodes, though I think [livejournal.com profile] sundart and [livejournal.com profile] primitive_boy watched like five total. It's a pretty funny concept and I laughed. Don't know if it's going to become a regular staple or anything, but it was funny.

At around six we switched gears and watched the other five eps of Queer As Folk. Well three of us did. [livejournal.com profile] primitive_boy kinda fled the living room proclaiming his disinterest, which annoyed me for some reason, until I realized that he was fleeing from the TV for a change and then it was just funny. Really. I forget sometimes that not everyone is into psychedelic men wearing cowboy hats and waving feather boas around. :) [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess, [livejournal.com profile] sundart and I are hooked though. Will have to rent some more of those when Sunny-D comes back from Mormon-land.

(yes, [livejournal.com profile] harinezumi, it does indeed take place in Pittsburgh, which I found a little jaw dropping. And I figured out why there was something about one of the main characters (Brian) that was bugging me the first time around - he looks quite a bit like you, except with a smaller head. :D Enough to be related, anyways.)

Anyway, hours of TV does help with five or so hours of braiding. TV series on DVD must be a godsend for black hairdressers everywhere. ;)

also got the mix I made burnt and covered. I'm still reeling from the fact that I can now make CD mixes, how cool is that? I do have to make some tape mixes soon though - some people I know need new car tunes. :) Also need to make a cover for Futurepop Phantom so I can finally give/send it to the folx who wanted copies of that (you know who you are.)

My day's end involved retiring semi-early into the very soft (and very naked) embrace of a [livejournal.com profile] sundart, looking all cute in her black cherry hair. :) *happy sigh*

Work today, then home to watch [livejournal.com profile] sundart panic about her trip tomorrow... oh, hell. It's snowing. Gotta do outside snow maintenance detail first. Meh!

...and a twinkle in my eye, if you could see it behind my smudged up glasses *wipe* as I walked home from work in the crisp, cold evening, blasting Cake's Love You Madly through my headphones and occasionally singing along. That song is exactly my walking pace. Especially if I'm doing my sexy look-at-my-butt-damn-it walk. :)

And now, to make meself some PB&J...
