Looks like instead of gracefully flailing at HvN I'll be home swearing at and wrestling with the snowblower. Oh well, at least it will look pretty again afterwards.

Why the hell does the wet weather have to happen on a paper recycling week? the garbage folx get a mite touchy when the stuffs waterlogged. *grumble bitch growl*

Mixing

So I've spent the majority of my morning catching up on all the mix work I'd been promising folx for a while, and finally came around to working on the two themes I'd been playing with. Unfortunately I'm running a little short on the current one I'm messing with - Arabian Nights. So far I've included some Shakira, Tarkan, a couple of things off the 5th element soundtrack, a couple of things off the cowboy bebop soundtrack, and a bunch of dead can dance, but I'm well short of a full CD. Can anyone recommend any arabic pop songs or even normal pop songs with an arabic sound to them? thanks.

Arabic techno is pretty neat stuff...

Snowing

Well, after two hours of lurking about and being recalcitrent, the snow finally arrived. Boy oh boy did it ever. It's only been snowing since 2:30ish and the world has turned white. And it's coming down out there. I think I may drag on some pants and go walking in it shortly. I've been kinda inside all day, and I think nancing about in a near blizzard may lift my spirits a bit.

I've been fairly productive, actually. I made Tearwater Tea for gossamer_gull (110min, cassette), Angst Machine for Di (80 min, CD), started working on Arabian Nights, which will eventually go to either g.g. or inle_rah when that's done, and finally got the covers and cases for Futurepop Phantom done (160 min, 2 CDs, for inle_rah, sydneycat, mermaidblue, Di, and harinezumi, anyone else want one, holler and I'll order more double cases), not to mention the painful process of cutting FP down to 110 minutes for g.g. (cassette) so she can listen to it in her car. Now all that remains is burning all of the above and then recording the burnt copies of Tearwater Tea and Futurepop Phantom (abridged) onto cassette, plus making covers for Angst Machine and the two tapes.

And then I should really finish the Left Hand of Dorkness. (No, that's not a typo.) But first I have to get a jump on the trash...

But the overarching big thing will probably be off my to-do list by tomorrow morning, yay.
