Better

ok, I think I thoroughly danced the bug out of my ass. *sigh*

Haven was good, the dj's were unusually on tonight (probably on good behavior due to guest dj spinning) and played a lot of stuff I liked without being too too Haven top 40, which was duly appreciated. Noteable music notes: Disappoint was aptly timed and angstily danced to as was Teardrop, what the hell was that satisfaction track? I liked it... (damn if Devnull wasn't around this week, I like his little program where he gets to flash the current thing playing across the wall and on half the screens in the club), and I want that #1 Crush/Closer hybrid. Wow, I never would have pegged those songs working mixed together, but *drool*

Things that worked about this evening:
- Good danceable stuff, once I worked off my blue funk
- Getting a mrrrph, boys suck hug from [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat
- [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah! Yay!
- [livejournal.com profile] gossamer_gull's scarf dance
- getting complimented several times on my jewelry (gold is such a rarity at a goth club...) and being accurately pegged as "gypsy-like." Must've been the bangles.
- the little purple patchwork skirt I bought this afternoon is wicked cute. I think we have a winner.
- Getting hugged by [livejournal.com profile] dionethoughts. :)
- Getting unexpectedly toasted. Jeezus Christ, what the hell do they put in a Liquid Evil that a) necessitates a $7.50 price tag and b) has the ability to seriously tipsify me in two rounds? And quickly too. I was fine, I was fine, suddenly everything go swimmy. I know I'm a cheap drunk, but that was ridiculous. I'm still a little bit fuzzy around the edges...
- Dancing blind. Considering I can see well enough without my glasses to not bump into the oncoming blobs of color, I decided to skip the glasses for most of the evening. Which just made the shift to drunk fairly trippy.
- Getting food with g.g. afterwards.

Bad things about this evening:
- sockings not staying up, despite the eleastic at the top. Finally took them off.
- there's more but I'm falling asleep athe board. so I can't type anymore. Ah well. brf soo

edit, 7:24 am - *snrrk* Ok, I really did fall asleep there. I woke up, and checked my LJ to find a shitload of spaces at the end of this entry, which meant I had probably fallen asleep with my thumb on the space bar. And I'd give my left nut to know what the hell brf soo means.

ah well, Haven write-up to be continued in next entry...

Anyone remember John Leguizamo's short lived sketch comedy series? *sigh* good stuff, though I can't remember the name of it.

Back to the sleep interrupted Haven review.

A side note on the last good thing:
I love Jen, the goth waitress at Denny's. She's sooooooo sweet, and kept plying us with French vanilla cappuccinos, which I suppose after all of that, we needed.

Oh and I saw Roxanne. *pant* I can say this without any irony or sarcasm, but thank the Goddess that there is a bigger, taller, more goddesslike, more gorgeous black woman out there that likes to go goth clubbing. I'd totally have her puppies if I could.

And the new earplugs I got work really well.

Bad things about the evening:
- stockings (not sockings, as i'd originally written) not staying up, despite the elastic at the top. Stay up thigh highs my big round caboose. Finally took them off, despite the fact that my legs looked super cute in them. I'll have to save their wearing for a less flail-y occasion. Either that or invest in some crotchless fishnets instead.
- I was in a serious funk for about an hour, but all hail the healing power of thumping bass upon the wounded soul.
- My dancing became a controlled stagger at the end there. Only kinda due to the liquid evils. They only exacerbated the latent soreness from the sunset biking yesterday.
- And speaking of the liquid evils. Yummy, yes, but must the bartenders be so surly when serving them?
- how the hell does a crocheted shirt with more empty space in it than material still manage to be hot?

Still, overall a good evening was had, and I'm glad I went. I'm always glad to head out there when I do, even when the evening starts off crabtastic. I always leave feeling a ton better. "Dance your cares away *clap clap* down among the goths...." *gets disturbing image of muppets in bondage gear and cheap medieval clothing*

*giggle*

I was so caught up in being Bitchqueen of Bitchia yesterday that I forgot to write up the bit of time I spent downtown in search of body glitter (not found, and when found appallingly expensive) and a short floaty skirt, which I did find, in purple patchwork, no less. I think I just found my new favorite piece of clothing. :)

I'm rediscovering skirts as clothing option lately. They're lest restrictive in odd places than pants, are fairly forgiving of my ass and I look pretty damned good in them. Not to mention very easy access, ha ha. On a related note, I'm also discovering the brave new world of tights... when I find stuff that fits, anyhoo. There are some crazily patterned tights at http://www.footraffic.com that do run up to queen.

I also got one other neat thing - a splashguard for my Nalgene. Anybody who carries a nalgene should definitely get one of these little doohickeys, they're wonderful, and eliminate that drooling down both sides of your mouth problem you get when drinking from something with a wide neck like that.

Today will be running about like headless chicken, class, organ lesson, lab shift, and then home to do laundry, homework and some tidying up and hardware install type things (hardware in terms of Bob Vila, not hardware in terms of building the ultimate gaming box). Fun.

and now a questionnaire meme thing )

Boy was I ever PMSing, too. This morning big surprise, bleeding like a stuck pig and cramping to beat the band. Oh boy.

Advil is my friend...

on the other hand wow, what did I do to deserve such a gorgeous gift of a warm spring day? *basks like a lizard on a rock*

gotta make a phone call and start these sweet potatoes going. Between the neighbor doing her laundry rightthefucknow and the possibility of [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess needing to do laundry tonight goodness only knows if I'll manage to get mine done, but am going to give it a shot. Must run around now.

ya know, even though the postings from [livejournal.com profile] mock_the_stupid tend to take over my friends page I'm glad I joined it, for gems like this. *snrrrrk*

Kinda all over the place moodwise. Seabound's "hooked" is playing over and over again in my head and I have to somehow figure out how to tell the wild monkeys in charge of the cranial Nomad to change the song. In the meantime, just this, over and over again...

I've come to understand that bliss
Is quite impossible and if
I'll ever find a way
I'll claim another life

I've come to understand that kiss
Was quite impossible and if
I'll ever find a way
I'll halt the turn of time...

Course what rescued me from my blue funk was really good dinner (sundart do catfish very well... for a yankee. ;) and the sweet potatoes? divine. :) ) and primitive_boy bearing gifts. I am now the proud owner of a purple suede trimmed cuff and collar set. And boy are they yummy. I had to go try them on. Then I had to take pictures. Then, oops, new icon. :)

pictures! )

Some days, I am t3h h4wt. Go me.
