kjpepper: (happy me (grass))
quiet evening, post iconage, and I'm feeling much less grumpy, though my head is just as full as it was earlier. I'm just now in the frame of mind to deal. Finally. Well, sort of.

So after I posted and [livejournal.com profile] sundart formally declared her hatred for me for getting "Nine Naked Men" stuck in her head, I ran around doing trash like activities (sans the fridge patrol, obviously) and hauled out all of this week's cat litter and the kitchen grossness. And while I was out there I happened to look up... *happy sigh* Pretty stars! They were so much fun I had to run in and get [livejournal.com profile] sundart to come ogle with me, so we hung out in the dark driveway for a good twenty minutes pointing out constellations and reminiscing about other stargazing moments we'd had. And I saw a shooting star! Yes that's a big deal, I've seen maybe three in my entire life, not counting the time I actually managed to catch some of the August meteor shower a couple of years back. We also saw a satellite - at least, that's the only explanation besides a UFO we could come up with for a tiny, not too bright star tracking rather rapidly across the sky. And the usual suspects as well, the big dipper, the pleiedes, Cassiopeia, And Libra! (I think.) Can't wait until fall - not only does colder air make the sky clearer, but my big-assed boyfriend comes out to play at a "reasonable" hour. I miss Orion sometimes. :)

[livejournal.com profile] morlock pinged me at some point before the impromptu stargazing - apparently game had ended early, so I was like hey, come over we can watch movies or something. So he did, and he, [livejournal.com profile] sundart and I ended up sprawled on the one couch or across both couch and loveseat and watching "Queer Eye" (yay!) and "The West Wing," which I'd never seen before but found intriguing. I don't know what it is about that boy, but he somehow manages to calm me down and cheer me up at least some when he's around. Probably because he's a big goofball, but we all know how much goofy does it for me. :)

Anyhow. Still thinking too much, I'm afraid, but much less likely to defenestrate things.

Good night.

* This was from one of the songs [livejournal.com profile] sundart made up a while back. Damn she's cute sometimes...
kjpepper: (underpants!)
This morning as I was taking the office dogs for a stroll up on the lushly overgrown railroad tracks, a curious vehicle passed by. It was a pickup truck, modded to run on train tracks.

That looked like such a fun thing to be driving along. I mean really, you don't really have to worry about steering, you can just motor up and down the track as you see fit. Case in point when the same truck passed us again, this time in reverse.

They must be doing some track maintenance up there. It's been weeks since I've seen or heard an actual train go by, and there'd usually be at least two or three within my very short workday. Weird.

It's actually really nice out today. Not sweltering. Not soupy. Nice. A little hot, but the breeze mitigates it. There are some trees in the neighborhood seriously jumping the gun on the color change thing. Dude. Wait another six weeks, will ya? (that soon? wow. I'm going to be 26 in a little over a month. The level of baffled I am by this fact is... immeasurable.)

In other news there's a seriously bizarre crick in my neck currently.

Need lunch now. Then maybe some brain flushing into [livejournal.com profile] violetsilence and then maybe a nap.
kjpepper: (so it goes. (abi station))
watching Jerry Springer on network television is much like listening to Lil' Kim on the radio. There's no real point, as the bleep to actual dialogue/lyrics ratio is about 5:1.
