kjpepper: (happy me (grass))
I'm mastubating my kill reflex and actually watching the news. Well, I'm watching Headline News because CNN made me want to fling things at the TV. Yes, I'm aware they're the same network, but on HN the tripe is condensed into easy to swallow little... nuggets. (beatfag, that was just for you.) Oh yeah. That's why I never watch these networks. Sensationalist fucktards. Although at least on HN, Ivan by himself is taking up almost as much airtime as the media circus and fearmongering that is today's date.

Last night was fun fun fun, despite being all stuffy. I need to stop being in denial about the fact that I do get all allergic in the early fall as well. [livejournal.com profile] sundart and I met up with [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat downtown and we went to fitzwilly's for dinner, where they have a seriously fun new thing for telling people when their tables are ready. You get this coaster to carry around with you and it lights up and vibrates when you have to go back and claim your table. Of course I'm fascinated with such toys and how they work, and of course my brain was exploring more... unconventional... uses for such technology...

Actually the theme for the evening was neat little gadgets. [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat had just recieved a souvenir from Paris from a friend of hers: a pen that has a picture of the Eiffel Tower, and when you click the button on the top it glows blue and plays the french national anthem. It litereally is "the tape recorder up his brother's nose."

Anyway we had a fun dinner, and we wandered over to [livejournal.com profile] modernmyths to cheerfully interrupt [livejournal.com profile] morlock's D&D game, (he was glad to see us) and then into Pleasant Street Video and CVS for a bit, and then we saw the cute blonde off to catch her bus and sundart and I walked home, chatting and admiring the night sky, which was incredibly clear. Like we could see the milky way, that's how clear it was.

Put the girl to bed, pottered around Livejournal, then chatted with [livejournal.com profile] morlock over IM well into the wee hours. I don't remember how the conversation ended because I fell asleep. ;)

So the week and change between October 3rd and October 15 is going to be mad busy I think. Or at least mad celebratory.

It's inle_rah's birthday on the 5th, and so since mine is two days later we were discussing the idea of both heading to Haven to bobbledance and flail and receive birthday lapdances/worshippings from any portion of our adoring fans that decide to show up that night.

The seventh (my actual birthday) I'm taking the day off, except for class. And the next day too, so I have a 5 day Columbus day weekend. Reason being that every single time that I've been a good sport and gone to work on my birthday, I wind up staying late. So no, not this time. So nyeh. No worky for me.

So many birthdays between now and the end of Oct. And then Halloween (and possibly the second annual Casita Amarilla Pirate Party, watch my or [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess' LJ for more detail), which sort of officially kicks off "The Holidays" for me.

I just received my own precious copy of Invader Zim, season 1. I had COMPLETELY forgotten that I'd ordered it, so it was a really big surprise. I know what I'm watching tonight... *cackle* Take me to the meat!!!

gotta run.

bah. this is looking less like allergies and more like a mild but still irritating cold. I think my body is trying to tell me I haven't been getting enough rest. Or maybe that was the two 3 hour naps I accidentally took today.

So, long story short, my day was pretty quiet. I did venture outside for a bit to the video store - had to pay a late fine on a video I'd completely forgotten about that wasn't checked out on my account, and last night they gave us Sleepless In Seattle instead of The Big Lebowski. Oh well. All set now.

Except [livejournal.com profile] sundart and I are watching a Law & Order: SVU marathon. We're such addicts.
