kjpepper: (oh FUCK)
Shit I'm tired.

I think the official cliche for today is/was "No rest for the wicked," because there truly wasn't for me. Today was just... long. Really friggin' long. But you know what? except for the bit there I was having a duck fit around 7:45 this evening, it was a really good day.

Bulleted list time, because if I write all this stuff up at length, I can jolly well forget about sleeping tonight.
  • The first bit of day. Wake up, noodle around on compy, go to work for four hours. Go to CVS because hey, I started class today, I needed a new notebook. Also gave in to my inner six year old and bought myself lunch at the Vermont Country Deli, for the last time, I swear. That place is expensive!

  • Bus to Umass. Wound up talking to Phil all the way there. Man can talk the the newel post off of a bannister, jeez. He did tell me something interesting though - at 2AM on Sunday night, they're going to jack up a house on Bridge Street (Rt 9), put it on a truck, and move it down 91 to the other side of town. I may stay up and ride my bike down that night to watch, it sounds absolutely fascinating. I mean, watching Smith deposit Wesley House on a dolley on a huge set of tracks just so they could shove it 100 feet thataway was fascinating enough...

  • class was good. (see previous entry). got jumped by fence. checked LJ from the library basement, ran into comic store Mike recently of cheezy pen from Paris fame.

  • Got thoroughly pissed off at a couple of trendy Russian hipsters making it really hard for me to get my bike loose from where I had locked it. My shoulder already hurt from the the fence, and they so weren't moving despite the fact that they were so in my way, how very into their conversation about fun spots in Amherst. I ended up saying "excuse me" in a really rude tone, but it took a minute and their incredulous expressions for it to dawn on me that it had popped out of my mouth in Russian. Considering I had my hair cornroed and I was dressed down today and oh the fact that THERE AREN'T ANY BLACK PEOPLE IN RUSSIA, I think I threw them for a total loop. Yeeeeah. I love pulling that shit, it totally messes with people. Seriously. I'm tempted to learn Swedish just so I can mess with folks that expect anything else but a black woman saying anything in their language. Same reason why I wanna learn the bagpipes really. Such the double take factor there.

  • All roads from the Haggis Mall (yes that's deliberate) are downhill. (except going to Amherst.) So I pretended the brake hadn't been invented as I smoothy coasted down the bike path. From the end dof the coast to Rt 9 kinda sucked though, just cause it was long and straight. My thighs felt thoroughly spanked at the end. Going down route 9 to the Hampshire mall in the bike lane, on the wrong side is pretty bad too. Made one stop at [livejournal.com profile] morlock s bank, caught his eye, blew him a kiss and left. The surprised grin I got for my effort neutralized and then blew out of the water any pissyness I was carrying up until that point, and there was a good deal of that today so that's saying something. Made it to the mall without getting hit or falling into the swamp. go me.

  • went shopping with [livejournal.com profile] sundart. I must say, I love shopping with that girl. I mean, dude, somehow her presence makes shopping for shoes, something I have loathed with the passion of a thousand angry camels pissing on my lawn since I was just out of Stride Rites, palatable, even fun. bought birthday presents for jaicat, who will receive them tomorrow, discovered something utterly fabulous and wonderful and actually useful to me at Target which I absolutely had to have (unfortunately I can't reveal said item until later, but they are the shizzy). Got pissed again as soon as we exited the mall - some fucker had managed to go so far as to unscrew/unhook Bellenoire's front wheel before discovering that it was locked to the rack with my lock. thank the goddess it was - I actually believe that the wheel would have been GONE had it not been.

  • Got home without further aggravation or mishap and looking forward to taking out the trash and unwinding a little before Haven. Except I sit down, scroll through a couple of LJ entries and remember that there's Poly Meetup tonight at 8 and I really wanted to go. At this time, it is 7:15, and I have just sat down after literally 6 straight hours of nonstop running around. FUCK. Somehow between then at 8:25, I manage to get dressed, freak about seventeen different things, talk to [livejournal.com profile] jaicat about meeting at Haven instead of going to dinner, tame the fro, get laced, pack my purse, and after twenty minutes of looking futilely around the living room for the mate to the one club ankle boot I CAN find (the picture/new icon is of my dangling upside down over the couch arm, looking in the corner. Yes that's my ass), decide to wear the asskicking motorcyle boots. I hate rushing. I hate being late. My blood sugar has totally crashed. At this point I'm bitchy to the nth degree, but I look good. *sigh*

WHERE THE HELL IS MY OTHER SHOE? )

  • Poly meetup was fun as always and today we actually got some productive stuff done. The usual suspects were there, and my late arrival meant that the previously gathered had to move to bigger table space. Wasn't hungry and still pissed by then, but I started sucking down cokes (not cocks, like I originally typed - must remember not to talk to [livejournal.com profile] gossamer_gull when I'm typing ;) ) until I realized that it was probably a bad idea to be consuming massive amounts of liquid in a unitard. Under both a skirt and corset. Yeah.

  • Haven, despite the theme night and the OMG SHITTY music was... was... well great. But that's mostly a description for a locked journal entry maybe sometime tomorrow. I'm really fighting to stay awake long enough to post now. But a fabulous time either seemed to be or definitely was had by one and all.
And now, I am putting my sleepy, tired OMG sore ass to bed.

ow ow ow fuck OW! I am so sore from the waist down it ain't funny. Good thing there's no class today. I think I'm going to bravely slog through work and then come home and blissfully fall unconscious before it's time for me and sunny to meet [livejournal.com profile] jaicat and [livejournal.com profile] darkling_dreams for dinner or somesuch tomorrow.

And now the silliness. I was recently thinking godDAMN it's been a while since I've seen hide nor hair of a long thoughtful questionnaire thingummie. (I've kinda mostly given up on short quizthings and picture memes, but I like, answer and read questionnaires.) As lo, my savior in the form of [livejournal.com profile] _kyri posted something to occupy my three conscious brain cells for the next little bit. yay!

5 Things... )

Still tired from last night. Fuck last night, still tired from all day yesterday.

Bellenoire's in the shop - her back wheel is seriously bent. I'm still trying to figure out which minor but annoying accident I had yesterday was responsible for that one, but I'm stuck being a pedestrian for the next week or so while they fix the wheel and tune up the bike, and while I amass the funds to pay them for their services. *sigh* More money gone. More annoyingly, I'm gonna have to start leaving for work at 8:15 if I want to get there on time walking, which cut into my morning must-dos pretty harshly.

My mood's been wonky and all over the place lately. I really hope it's just cause I'm tired, cause then it's fixable.
kjpepper: (batshit tenna (laughing))
"I'm a little verklempt! Talk amongst yourselves..I'll give you a topic: http://www.rent-a-negro.com ...discuss!"
