*sigh*

kjpepper: (evil)
was it just a dream, were you so confused
was it just a giant leap of logic
was it the time of year, that makes a state of fear
methods were the motives for the action

[chorus]
did i hear you say
my country right or wrong
my country oh so strong
my country going wrong
my country right or wrong

did you save your face
did you breach your faith
women, there were children at the shelter
now who can stop the hail
when human senses fail
there was never any warning, no escape

[chorus]

i hear you say the truth must take a beating
the flag a camouflage for your deceiving
i know, yes i know
it's written on your soul
i know, we all make mistakes

[spoken]
this is not a case of blurred vision
it's a case of black holes
pocket holes
soul holes

[chorus]
Great song, by the way, and quite pertinent... Then again anything by Midnight Oil comes with a high recommendation from me.

As for the current bit of political aftershock, I honestly don't know how to feel about it. I waffle between severe annoyance towards closed minded bigoted folk in the bible belt and in the midwest who gave bush their vote to further an agenda that may well send us back into the dark ages. I'm irritated by the fact that I voted, sure, but not in an area that would really decide the fate of the country - MA was going to Kerry even if only three people showed up to the polls in the entire state. I'm kinda amused by the idea that maybe the chunk of the country above the Mason Dixon line and east of Ohio (fucktards) that went entirely to kerry should secede from the Union, but that ain't gonna happen except in my head. America's overdue for a revolution, really, but much as the chaos goddess in me is all for the idea of sweeping, devastating change, most of me is a little too attached to being comfy to really be that much of a fan. And then there's the chunk of me that shrugs, says "ah well." and goes on, and another bit with the stern reminder that the President is not the only elected official that matters, and to pay closer attention to the House and the Senate as well.

I guess what's next is just be true to myself, my beliefs and my way of life as I try to always be, no matter what.

Well, now that that's posted, off to read the rants that I know have thoroughly permeated my friends list.
