Jun. 5th, 2005 11:59 amYesterday was fun... I wasn't going to post about it until I could get the pictures off the camera but the USB cord to my digicam is either still packed or missing. Grr. So I'll post 'em later.
So the younger Zakrzewskis,
zadnyl and
jz898, paid us a visit after the Dan Bern concert they'd driven out to see at the Iron Horse. It's always fun seeing them, and it's wicked fun these days cause suddenly
sundart's kid siblings are like, grown up, when the fuck did that happen? Specially since when I first met them they were, well, tiny. Course I tend to conveniently forget that I first met them nine years ago... we've all kinda come a long way in nine years. :) But yeah, they're fun and it was cool having them over.
So Saturday they planned to storm Northampton and go shopping. All well and good, right? but the best part, is that they did it dressed as pirates! No reason, just for the hell of it. So I joined them, after a little convincing (I woke up kinda cranky and tired after staying up the night before watching HBO with
morlock) in their pirately revelry, pictures were taken, and together me and the Zs headed into downtown, with a stop at
athene's to show off our costumery and make
athene laugh. We also stopped at the bank so I could get some gold (literally! I changed about 15 dollars for gold dollars in proper piratey accent, much to the amusement of all the tellers on that day.) and A2Z... god, but they do have the softest, cuddliest stuffed animals... *sigh*
anyway. So. Joined in our quest for booty that day by
sydneycat, we lunched at Taipei and Tokyo (still too frightened by bubble tea to actually try it), wandered into the mercantile, Faces (why do they have the best furniture EVAR down there?) and went to Herrells for ice cream, then the Zs and I drove home singing along to their CD of drinking songs, and at the end, treating them to my raucous rendition of Barnacle Bill the Sailor, since it was the last track. I really need to find someone willing to sing the girl's part with me, since sundart always refuses.
I also need to find the song about the pirates of Saskatchewan cause damn it was funny.
zadnyl and J took their leave, and later on in the evening the Wonderquad + jew sat down in sydmor's apartment to play
morlock's game experiment... his idea is to run a WoD game with the five of us playing ourselves. Believe it or not it's actually pretty hard to play yourself in a role playing game, cause you have to be extra true to your character - it might advance the plot to go charging into situations, but you know that if you yourself were confronted with a similar fucked up sitch you would probably either pee yourself or cry or something so that's what you have to do. Weird... but cool. I was pretty skeptical of the new WoD system when it first came out, but now I'm a convert, and may need to pick up at least the main book and the Vampire book. Turns out we all had fun, despite some initial reservations about the idea... I like the idea that my computer fu gives me like seven dice when trying to figure out something computery.
Today's disgusting and sticky, so I'm probably going to drag a box fan in wherever I go and try to get some house fu done. oh, and call back
inle_rah...
