Jun. 27th, 2005 12:20 amToday was weird.
First there were the OMG thunderstorms that blew through Amherst with a vengeance around 4:30. I was up in sydmor's living room with the girls taking advantage of their magical box o cool and listening to the storm rage around the building... and I do mean raging. like horizontal rain, trees whipping around, thunderclaps that shake the building raging. And then as I was confirming a credit card number for the pizza we were ordering, the entire room - and I'm not making this up - the entire room shuddered and everything came to a grinding halt. Everything electrical switched off on one side of the room, my phone call died, and I got slammed with this wave of something that hit me right about chest region and really uncomfortably fucked with my heartbeat for a minute or so. We eventually came to the conclusion that there must have been a lightning strike in the back lot that caused some kind of EMP that knocked out everything. Still, it was pretty messed up shit.
I finally managed to get some of the posters on the walls tonight, using the dowel and slide binders for reports idea I had a couple of weeks ago, as opposed to the way more expensive framing option. It turned out to work quite well in most cases. and it's sort of amazing how much a few posters here and there can really aid uniformly white walls. In other news, most of our walls don't like the idea of shelving - the couple of places we tried to put up shelves in our living room didn't work at all.
I finally capped the evening with a two hour long rendition of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
anzovin and sundart getting together, as told by both of them, which was an unexpected treat, especially since I'd never heard the Jew's side of the story told in his own words. The man can tell a story, I'll give him that, and the two of them telling the it was so incredibly sweet and cute that it brightened my otherwise somewhat of a wash of a day.
