kjpepper: (midnight panther)
Well, even though my day was eh, my evening and well into my late night kicked ass, and that more than made up for it. Most of what made my day and early evening stupid were minor freak outs about money and a concentration problem at work due to being up late working on my hair last night. I don't want to even concieve of how zombie-like I'm going to be when I go in later, cause I'm not really planning on doing too much sleeping tonight... I still have HP and the Half-assed Sequel to finish (that's not a book review - so far while it's not blowing my skirt up, I'm enjoying it nonetheless), and I'm still way wired from the evening.

Basically [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat and I went to Haven tonight, which turned out to be reasonably good due to a big helping of Haven Top 40 and extremely silly due to the Rocky Horror theme going on. Oy. Haven theme nights. But that was even ok cause I saw folk like [livejournal.com profile] dionethoughts and [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah and [livejournal.com profile] stormcloudand [livejournal.com profile] mhaille, danced with the poor unsuspecting guy dressed as a penis... and then later we were joined by [livejournal.com profile] bluewindkitsune and [livejournal.com profile] theharbinger, who proceeded to totally make our nights with a fuckton of aggressive flirting from all sides, stories, watching their dynamic and how they riff off of each other with the ease born of a long association and a bond bordering on symbiosis. God they're wonderful. Bonus points for [livejournal.com profile] theharbinger's lovely baritone (which we were treated to as he harmonized with blue on many a dirty song in Dennys a little later) and interesting tales of odd phenomena gravitating towards him. I tells ya, you and our [livejournal.com profile] morlock need to sit down with stiff drinks and have a nice long chat. And dear wonderful cuuuuuute blue, with the blue spandex and the free lapdances... so yummy.

*happy sigh*

The good Laird 'as beamed up Scotty. RIP, James Doohan.

I've finished HP and the Half Blood Prince. I swear, Rowling writes more and more like a rollercoaster - you spend forever meandering upwards and then the ride's over and you were too busy screaming your head off at the end to figure out what happened. I just wish she'd get to the exciting bits a little sooner. I'm also glad that I didn't try to speculate on stuff or guess shit ahead of time, so I was properly surprised by a couple of things, pleased by a few others, and wanting to beat some characters over the head by the end. I also have to wonder if the movies are influencing her writing any... I know I can't read Hagrid without hearing Robbie Coltrane anymore. Anyone else hear or see any members of the movies while reading now? Right now my inclusions from the movie are McGonagall, Dumbledore (richard harris), most of the weasleys (I've got a mullet-less Ron, but Ginny I think is spot on... anyway. Not sure how to feel about the end, going to have to digest it some more.

Game tonight, then talkins with the boy, then good god SLEEP.
