kjpepper: (trebek WTF)
First of all, to my best, sweetest and oldest friend,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

It still boggles me that I've been friends with [livejournal.com profile] harinezumi for a period of time that can almost be measured in multiple decades. I've been scared for quite a while that this measure of time constitutes most of my waking life. Most people don't keep around the people that would torment them in science class with the spicy aroma of their dirty boy-socks, but sometimes, like in this particular case it is definitely worth doing. *chuckle* Though you walk in the valley of the shadow of 30, fear no evil, my friend. :)

Yesterday was on the long and stupid side, and I was kinda crashed and sad when I met sunny at Trader Joe's after work. Being hungry and damp didn't help too much. But with an application of chocolate and strawberry lemonade, the evening looked up from there. Played warcrack for a bit, got ny nelf to ding 29 (w00t!) and then went to the diner last night with [livejournal.com profile] sundart, [livejournal.com profile] anzovin and [livejournal.com profile] drklord1922 last night, which, other than a rather unfortunate flirtation between [livejournal.com profile] anzovin's back bumper and a snowplow marker in the parking lot due to a forgetting to put the car into park, it was quite fun and full of the discussion of movies. After sunny+jew left to go home to bed, [livejournal.com profile] drklord1922 and I stayed a bit longer to shoot the shit, which was nice, as I don't get to talk to him much except occasionally over Gtalk. We then went to see The Shining... I've seen it too many times to be truly scared by anything about it anymore (other than the painful seventies era wallpaper) but I have to admit on the big screen, it definitely has more of an effect. Somehow you don't get a really good sense of how BIG that damned hotel is on a TV. Nor the full impact of Jack Nicholson's impressive range of eyebrow motion. Never was there and never will be again someone that utterly well suited to playing crazy people. Not to mention he always looks like he's having FAR too much fun doing so. Red Rum!!! Good times, though I wish they could jury rig the ventilation system in the theater so on the evening of the Rewind it's not set to shut off at the usual time. Sold out show + no air makes for not so much with the breathing and the comfy temperature.

Got home at 2:30ish and as requested, there was a sexy manthing waiting for me in my bed. Rawr. :)

I actually have a weekend this weekend, as I apparently requested it off from the theater. (I do not remember doing this, but I am not complaining.) I am as yet not sure what I will do with it. For right now I am content to sit in QT9's recently rearranged living room watching the clouds scud by out the window. Probably after I post this I'll work on getting Kay to 30.
