I know all you Tom Cochrane fans are screaming blashemy right now, but I had this random thought the other day and it made a weird sort of sense. Granted I was in a severe state of half awake at the time... but it is. You're on the Lurve Boat. It's not like being on vacation though. It's more that you work there. You get on the boat, it goes to maybe the saychelles or something for like a couple of weeks, then you come home and sleep for two days and then get back on the boat again. That's what I've started to feel like every day is like, except I'm not sailing from here to some crazy tropical location, I'm sailing from when I drag my carcass out of bed to the point where I can shovel said carcass back into it.

...like I said, it made a lot more sense when I was sleepy. I'm going to stop with the theory now. I don't want to end up sounding like the Timecube guy, which I will if I start babbling about how time works without the proper amount of sleep and caffeination.

It doesn't look like the house in Sunderland is going to work out, but I think that will be okay as the house's owner is revealing herself to be something of a crazy old bat. yeesh. Probably dodged a bullet there - goodness knows I've had a couple of anal rententive basket cases as landlords and it really is not an experience I'd like to repeat. However, [livejournal.com profile] morlock, [livejournal.com profile] sundart and I got to look at a place today before anyone could really panic, which is in Northampton and if you ignore the fact that the area seems to have a friendly neighborhood arsonist, is pretty damn kickass. All right I'm mostly kidding about the arsonist, there have just been several fires on that street occurring under mysterious circumstances this year. We're thinking renters insurance and bear traps will cover our asses (I am kidding about the bear traps. [livejournal.com profile] morlock on the other hand, wasn't) and I'll just have to be very careful about who I say I want to die in a fire. (Still applicable to Motown Benny, however.) Anyways, we're putting in apps for that place tomorrow, and we have a couple more places to look at this coming weekend. We may yet avoid having to live out of [livejournal.com profile] anzovin's and [livejournal.com profile] morlock's cars this summer. :)

LOST, wtf?

that is all, sleepytime now.

One of the Amherst crazy ladies is making herself quite the nuisance this week by asking anyone that is unfortunate enough to come within a ten foot radius of her what their thoughts are regarding the VT tech shootings. Considering she has herself parked at the Amherst Post office bus stop, that's a lot of people.

First of all I get massively annoyed in the first place when random strangers come up to me and try to start conversations with me. Especially when it seems pretty apparent I'm doing something else - ie, have headphones/earbuds in, holding an OPEN book, or even just fucking staring into space. It's friggin 8 in the morning, lady, I'm not awake by any measure, and I don't want to talk about national news with you. Especially if you're going to get pissy with me for saying that the current state of terror gripping college campuses is going to quite frankly be forgotten at some point in the near future. I should have pulled out the UT texas shootings in the 1960s. Bet she didn't know about that, and it probably would have torpedoed her opinion that students and parents were going to remained terrified to go to college until the Rapture. I mean, by her logic, everyone would have been home schooled after Columbine. As it is, pointing out that folks are now going into large skyscrapers with nary a thought again definitely soured her on talking to me.

This is what you get when you interrupt my treasured staring into space time with fearmongering stupidity.

Besides, we as a nation are already healing from the tragedy... Just like on Monday my flist was filled with up to the minute updates on the shootings, this morning I open LJ to see entry upon entry crowing about how Sanjaya got voted off American Inanity. I find it both irritating and amusing that this show that I do not even watch has so saturated public consciousness that I know who Sanjaya even is and why this is apparently a big deal. How quicky we doth move on eh... and is no one going to comment about the fact that the banning of partial birth abortion has been supported by the Supreme Court?

Did I hear you say
My country right or wrong
My country oh so strong
My country going wrong
My country right or wrong

hehe
