Is really quite a versatile word. It can be used in so many situations. Examples:
1) too much of it. When I haven't been more or less flat on my back moaning (more on that later) I've been unpacking mine. I am currently going into a mild state of wibble about too many books vs not enough shelf space vs not enough space for more shelves. There really isn't very much left of my room once you cram a full size bed frame and a desk the size of a twin into it. The good news is I've managed to clear most of the boxes out of my room, the bad news is that there are probably a few more downstairs. Eep.
2) ( this is probably way TMFI )
3) still no internet at CampAmoeba. I'm posting this from the office. Yes, I came in on Sunday night just to check LJ and email, yes I'm a nerd, stfu. Along with that, still no cable (that's getting installed with the internet), the phone was supposed to be turned on on Wednesday but we're still not getting a dial tone, and I'm only 75% sure they're actually going to pick up our trash tomorrow morning cause we only got the invoice that I was told would arrive LAST monday on Saturday. So many annoyed phone calls to make tomorrow.
4) I underestimated the amount of dishes five people generate in a day. *whimper* Had I known, I wouldn't have volunteered so readily to take care of them. In a similar vein, I also underestimated the firmness of the mattress on my frame right now. It's a bit like sleeping on a somewhat supple rock. Need to invest in either a pillowtop or one of those squashy foam mattress pads, cause waking up sore and cranky every morning will not do.
Still, even with all that, it was not a bad weekend. Unpacking is sort of fun, especially since I'm seeing some of my stuff for the first time in literally years as I crack open boxes and crates and rediscover their contents. Just this afternoon I discovered a book of Scott Joplin tucked in the random dusty assortment of piano music that J gave me a few Valentine's Days ago when he gave me the keyboard, so I may be setting out to teach myself the Maple Leaf Rag this summer. Maybe. Still haven't finished the Moonlight Sonata. Course that all depends on whether I find the keyboard's power cord... also with the work Syd and Sunny have been doing, we have an actual living room now, and one we've actually been hanging out in, which is good as
lostcircuit lent us her copy of Greg The Bunny (which, hilarious though it is, I can see why it only lasted a season on Fox). I'm going to have that theme song stuck in my head for weeks. Also went to see Shrek the Third with sydmor and was really surprised to have liked it as much as I did considering the shitty reviews it has gotten. I wouldn't see it multiple times or anything, but it's still better than most of the CG cartoons studios are cranking out these days (Case in point, the preview for Bee Movie? Eeeeeeewwwwww.) That and I'm thrilled with feeling cats bunking down with me at night. Mostly Ivy, but I've also had regular visits from Crabitha and Valentino as well. So there is definitely some YAY mixed in with the CRAP.
I'm looking forward to some projects this summer as well... wanna definitely do more bead and music stuff (not simultaneously...) I'm also surprised to find that I don't miss tooling around Azeroth as much as I thought I would. No worries, once the internetz are back the first thing I'm probably going to do is hit the AH and attempt to make up for lost time, but it's nice to know that I'm not wholesale addicted to WoW as I used to be. But in the meantime, it gives me a bit more time to concentrate on doing stuff like attempting to get the music collection into some semblance of organization, daunting though the task continues to be.
So life is generally okay, when my back isn't seizing up horribly...
