Jun. 1st, 2007 11:51 amI have today off. Which is cool, I had to leave early anyway cause i have a doctor appointment across the river at 3. So I am getting some much needed laundry done this morning and casually making plans for the weekend which mostly involve unpacking and going to see Pirates with the wimminz later tonight.
QT is dead, long live QT. We have officially quit it as of last night, brought home or trashed the leftover freecycle stuff, and can now celebrate the fact that no one in the family has to climb 61 steep ass steps to their house ever again. (with groceries!) I still have a bolthole to attend to, but I think I'm entitled to a week or so off before I return to tackle that. All that's left to do there is dumpstering, vacuuming and cleaning anyway, all of a Saturday's amount of effort with some help. But not this saturday. Good god, not this saturday.
So yeah, pretty much this weekend will be spent in attempting to make my room a little more habitable than it's been of late. Done laundry will of course help, but I also intend on hunting through the pile downstairs for the rest of my boxes, hanging stuff in my actual closet, reorganizing my dresser drawers so that they make sense, putting the winter stuff away, and generally making affairs in my room approach a state far closer to done than it has been for the past couple of weeks, in amongst the requisite warcracking and the planning of a craft prroject I would like to embark upon once things settle down a bit in here.
I swear, every time I have reembarked upon the world of cable TV it's like a brave new world. I suppose being one of those rare kids that didn'tactually grow up with it and have only had it in the house on and off throughout my life that even the basic lineup of channels holds much fascination even now. Granted now that I'm older and now that MTV and VH1 now have next to nothing to do with music anymore it holds slightly less wonder, but there are still some gems to be found in amongst the inane swill... like the fact that next week on the History channel they're going to start a series on Underground New York, and if there's anything that catches and holds my attention it's people spelunking around in the bowels of my city doing things I would never in a million years have the guts to do, but wish I did. So I will be watching that, thank you, then probably tuning in for the second hour of RAW, you know, just cause. And not that this is a gem, but I'm still tickled that there are some weeks where there is some form of professional wrestling on every day except Wednesday. Seriously, WTF. RAW on Monday, ECW on Tuesday, TNA on Thursday, Smackdown on Friday, Main Event on some Saturdays and a pay per view event of some sort on some Sundays?? (Not that we do the PPV events... well, we did do Wrestlemania a couple of years back... but in general no). That's just crazy. Especially since most of the WWE stuff is just lame these days, what with both members of DgenerationX & Rey Mysterio out of commission. (I mean I love me some Batista and Undertaker, but... ehhhh). Right now there's more pretty on TNA, which is both depressing and yet intriguing. But anyway... Cable is interesting.
We've started rolling characters for morlock's M&M based Avatar universe game. I'm getting excited about it. The game will be set just after Avatar Kyoshi, so there will still be Air Nomads, so I'm totally playing one. Whee! first game on Sunday, tentatively.
All right. Time to find something productive to do. Happy and prosperous June, all.
