The bad thing about knowing that you will most likely never start a rock band is that you have all these really great possible names that you'll never use (with the possible exception of naming Guitar Hero memory slots), and every so often the brain blorps out another one. There should be a repository of unused band names out there, cause I know I'm not the only one that thinks or hears something completely random and ponders it's rock-band-ablility. Just now I thought "Anbaric Mayhem" would be the best band name ever by virtue of the sheer impossibility of fitting any more obscure geekitude into those two words. And then I caught myself idly wondering if there was a Ouija board and a lot of weed involved in naming a certain one hit wonder, but Wikipedia alleges that the source of "Spandau Ballet" was German bathroom graffiti. Which you know? Is almost as good. Apparently bathroom graffiti was a major influence on eighties pop. Just ask poor Jenny.

I finished rereading Stardust tonight, though truly I have no memory of reading it the first time. Well, I had a memory of it - I remember the star's second spoken word being a profanity but nothing other than that. It's a sweet story, but upon finishing it I realized why I didn't really remember the first time I read it: it is definitely not one of Gaiman's best works, and honestly once done it is pretty easily forgotten. I wonder how the movie is going to turn out... I want to see it simply because I have a major thing for Michelle Pfeiffer and I find the idea of her playing a youth obsessed witch sexy in the extreme, but considering my feelings on Claire Danes are exactly opposite... yeesh. We'll see. Maybe she somehow won't annoy hell out of me during the course of the movie. Stranger things have happened. It's officially summer... and the weather here in Northampton is gorgeous. We will be celebrating it with a feast tomorrow at CampAmoeba.
