Ow, my ass

Here's a blast from the past, icon-wise. :D The picture may be from five years or so and about 50 pounds ago, but me and my Bellenoire are still BFF. Yes. I used the acronym, BFF. To refer to my bike. Tee hee... Shut up.

Anyway, after some prodding from [livejournal.com profile] morlock, who, interestingly enough seemed to want to go on an adventure (I know! Satan's gram is frantically knitting him a sweater, it's crazy!) we went to Amherst today and rescued my darling bike from the bowels of the Bolthole's basement. The ride back was seven and a half miles of mostly WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I HAVE MY BIKE BACK YAY. I mean, when you think about it, the last time I'd really gotten to ride her was what, about a year and a half ago? We did make a few stops along the way, discovering that the Ice Cream Pedlar is now a polish food and ice cream place called Sofia's Praises, Pete's drive in still has bike amenities in the back, harrassing the boys at [livejournal.com profile] morlock's old job and even at the end discovering that not only have they FINALLY put in a stoplight at Damon road where the bike crossing is, but they've extended the bike path. Awesomist thing ever. Apparently it terminates behind the King Street McDonalds, which doesn't quite hook up to the Northampton Bikeway, but it's close enough to figure out where the original train line crossed over, and it's not as if there isn't an available stop light there and a pretty clear idea of where the bike path starts up again. Excellent. Apparently if they keep extending the bike paths in both directions along the old Mass Central Railway, you'd have the potential to bike to Boston from Florence, which is... well, pretty damned awesome, all told. Not to mention they're building one on the other side of town that will eventually go from Northampton to New Haven. Craziness. But before we get too crazy, I gotta get back in shape first. Even with all the stopping, the ride from Amherst has me quite sore in the shoulders, thighs and butt. Must work on that. Oh, and next time remember my bike gloves.

Went to see Ratatouille again with [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat and [livejournal.com profile] morlock, as the Bear hadn't seen it yet and we'd promised to take him. Apparently it was "Managers don't give a rat's ass" night at the theater, as [livejournal.com profile] morlock and I managed to score passes for all three of us even though we haven't been on the roster in a little while. It was just as enchanting this time around and again, for the love of little apples, GO SEE THIS MOVIE BEFORE I SPORK YOU. Seriously, this movie is first on my DVD list and it just opened. Chatted a bit with Gallegher on the way out about Botcon and the Transformers movie - apparently we are in for one hell of a treat on Tuesday night.

Came home, sat down on the couch for a bit of bad TV with syd, and next thing I know it's 1am and [livejournal.com profile] morlock is shaking me awake. Dishes and a few glasses of lemonade later and I'm predictably not sleepy, hence the posting. I'm thinking I'll nip downstairs and swipe the M&M and WoD sourcebooks and geek myself to sleep...

I'm going to play with a kitten tonight!! [livejournal.com profile] lostcircuit has adopted a kitten so small that "kitten" almost seems too big for it... "Baby cat" is more like it. There will be much squeeing. Oh yes.
