kjpepperTook a short nap this afternoon and dreamed that the valley flooded badly enough to take out a few Smith houses, which doesn't make any kind of sense seeing as the college is stuck up on a hill and nowhere near anything that could flood that badly. Worse, for some reason lab consultants were put in charge of emergency measures and I had somehow failed to respond in an appropriately responsible way or something and so I got yelled at six ways from sunday. There was something rather neat about watching Hubbard House float away though, like a big steamboat.
My subconscious is weird.
I'm an idiot - Octavia Butler is showing up in class on Monday, not Friday, which would explain why I could find neither hide nor hair of her in the events calendar. The class is open, 9 am, Seelye 110, and then she's also giving a lecture in neilson library browsing room at 4. I have to try and figure out some way of getting her autograph without turning into a crazy drooling fangirl - this woman is the reason I want to write in the genres I do.

timarok for a bit this afternoon, he got back to Spankmedahling okay and of course his phone's out so he can only get incoming calls. Typical. :) Also found out that he is most likely getting sent to the middle east in June, not September. This is me, not having a fit... more or less successfully. This also sucks because it puts a serious crimp in his plans with/for his AF chickster, who will probably be cycling back to Germany just as he's leaving. *facepalm* The boy's got bad luck leaking out of his ears. Glad I got to talk to him though - needless to say, I missed him.
I just stuffed myself with chicken and broccoli. My tummy is debating whether this constituted a good idea or not... I should probably chase it with water - I've been drinking so much caffiene this week and last night I danced myself silly and now I chased all of that with more salt than any sane person needs. No wonder I feel marginally bleech. oog.
