beatgoddess is gone for the weekend, so I decided to pop onto her computer, run a few scans and see why the fuck her computer's been crashing so fucking much lately. Ended up spending two and a half hours removing all manner of spyware from her machine and another two fighting with NAV which is now either completely crashing the compy or refusing to complete a full virus scan. I'm pretty sure the issue lies in a corrupted/infected/missing .dll file or two, but man, it's frustrating, and I think I need to knock this shit off for a little while and return to it tonight. At least all the 'ware is gone.
In other news,sundart and I are kicking back in the living room feasting on ill-gotten gains (read Domino's and coke) and avidly watching the hurricane coverage on the Weather Channel a) because it's interesting and b) because there's not another blessed thing on. Anytime when you run across both golf and programs with titles like "Trash can of skin" (not kidding) you know there's nothing on. Not even a blessed ep of Law & Order. I also managed to get my nails repainted as I caught myself chewing on them while waiting for the spybot killer scan to complete. So they're now cherry red and shiny. Yum.
Oh! I also heard from an old friend, yay! I got an email this morning from Tash whom I hadn't heard from in a little bit. A friend of hers got her a ticket to Northampton that's good for a year, and so she's all like "can I still come visit?" and I'm like "Yes! yes! You must come! Now! Or something!" Girlie needs a vacation, I swear. Plus I haven't seen her in ages and I love playing tour guide so if she does show up it will be loads of fun. So that's majorly happy.
That's all going on right now. My thoughts are with_kyri and labmouse, that is one fuck of a storm barrelling your way. be careful.
