silver linings
Oct. 14th, 2004 05:57 pmStill low level stressed out about unnamed things, and I spontaneously decided this morning that damn it I wasn't having any coffee this morning, so I'm minorly twitchy and in need of a nap. And most of today was pretty heavily FEH worthy too.
BUT.
Several smile inducing stuff from the past 24 hours:
gossamer_gull coming over last night to drop off presents for a very sleepy
sundart, and then going for our usual walk-to-dunkin-donuts-have-coffee-and-walk-back trips, kvetching about pertinent life stuff the whole time. Yay.
getting out of class early today, and spontaneously deciding to drop by
sydneycat's office to drop off some "sunshine" to make up for the drizzling. I like making people smile, sometimes it makes my own bit of grouchy go away.
I got to smell the inside of a black hair salon today for a minute! (and for those of you who know what I'm talking about - there isn't any other smell quite like it.) I dropped by one in the carriage shops to check the price for a deep condition and twelve even cornroes (cause goodness knows I can't get them quite right by myself). Also had my hair fussed over in a complimentary fashion, and that always makes me smile. For some reason I've gotten more compliments on the head this week than like... ever. So strange. Especially since it's getting to be about time to pull it out - it's getting kinda loose and ratty.
On the bus home, completely forgetting that sunny was getting out of work early today, I look up to see her getting on the bus with me. Her presence made the crowd of extremely loud teenagers (one of which had obviously hosed themselves with this hideous smelling flowery perfume that made the screaming headache I already had worse) that got on the bus after she did bearable.
On the walk home from JMG, as we walked under one of my dad's hugetastic umbrellas, a photographer chanced to pass us, and decided that the image of us under the brolly was so incredibly cute that he had to take a picture. He's supposed to send us a copy, but that entire encounter was worth a giggle, and I'm sure the picture is going to be barftastically adorable. Getting to be about time for a new "me & sunny" icon anyway. ;)
Last night at Raven books,
sundart found a copy of the latest Jean Auel exposition on the Stone Age cum pornographic romance novel, The Shelters of Stone, for a negligible amount of money. Currently enjoying that, and I think I may betake myself to bed with that later if the headache doesn't let up. Tonight I kinda need quiet, I think. *sigh* I wish I could put my hand down on why the hell this week has been so inordinately stressful, but I can't, so I'll just curl up somewhere with a teddy bear or two and an engaging book and hope that this too will pass... and quickly.
So... yeah. rest of day can probably go hang, but... silver linings.
[edit] and now there's pie. Pie pie pie pie piiiiiiiiiie. Mmmm, pie.... PIE!
