There are three interesting meme type things going around currently that intrigue me. While picture quizzes are generally pretty silly and I try not to post them unless I can make snarky comments about them (goodness knows I've got enough to natter on about anyway) the just words memes and surveys and the answers people come up with do intrigue me. Sometimes you just need that little bit of catalyst to start interesting discussions, and I've been sensing that though I'm posting about as much it's all surface stuff lately, and I hate it when that happens. So, something to break out of the cycle is always a fun thing.

So my turn first, I guess.

The assignment is simple. Write a statement of what you believe. Stream of consciousness stuff, just write down whatever comes to you. A leads to B leads to Q leads to D. Don't just concentrate on one thing, like abortion or politics. Write about anything and everything that comes to you. The only restriction is that whatever it is you write it must be what you believe. You believe that little green men visit your bedroom every Tuesday at 3:15 AM? Write it down. As long as you believe it.
I believe life isn't fair, but it should be.

I actually don't believe in abortion, but I recognize its necessity. This is a weird one that I kinda have to explain... basically I do have a thing about all life being sacred, but a) we're currently kinda overpopulated and b) in our current society there is no good system of support to make sure that every child born is cared for effectively. So I support people who have and will have them because damn it, you should at least be solvent and responsible before you start breeding. Unfortunately, that has to be achieved on your own. Of course, on a related note I am a firm believer in birth control. Hell, I'm kinda for the idea of being sterilized until you decide you're "ready" to have kids - just take the all the worry out of it from jump. Which is amusing considering I'm rather the biological accident myself. ;)

I believe that there is no one concrete reality. It's kind of how two people can never see the same rainbow (unless one of them has a camera) because you're seeing the light hit a slightly different path of water droplets than the person standing next to you. I believe reality's kinda like that, and I also believe in the power to change or create it. Hence a rather strong belief that magick indeed exists.

I believe that we're going to see WWIII in our lifetime (if not the next four years), and it's going to be the US's fault. The UN can't achieve its purpose (preventing global wars) when it's biggest player continues to flagrently ignore it and everybody else. I also believe that the US is badly in need of a comeuppance and thorough smackdown - we've gotten a bit too big for our britches over here.

I believe that change in inevitable (except from a soda machine). That doesn't mean I have to like it.

I believe in things running in cycles. No matter how bad things get, they will always improve somehow. Likewise, now matter how good things get, they do all come to an end sometime.

I put some serious stock in "eat, drink, dance and be merry, for tomorrow you may be dead." Hence my vast irritation at my blah, flatlined sort of days.

Love, live, do and believe as thou wilt. The a#1 reason why I'm quite proudly pagan, even if I don't always remember when the holidays are.

I think that about covers that. I'm going to save the song meme for another post, since that will be quite long. But now, it's your turn.

This is the problem with LJ, we all think we are so close, and we know nothing about each other. I'm going to rectify it. I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.

Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.
Emphasis on anything, even the difficult questions. It's probably safe to say that, since I usually get only one or two silly answers to this one anyway. ;)

Hmm, should do these on my own LJ when I have some time.

As for the question, I think I'll pull a Morden and ask, what do you want?

You suck and I hate that question. A pox on you.

*resists urge to break into "I Want It Now" from Willy Wonka*

What do I want? *sigh* well other than the petty surface and material desires, I want as many of my nearest and dearest within a small distance radius so I can then spend my time spoiling all of them rotten. I want some comfy space all my own with good vibes so I can settle down and concentrate on the creative endeavors I'm currently neglecting. I want to figure out exactly what I was placed on this earth for, and set about fulfilling my purpose... if I haven't been all along somehow. I want to feel loved, cherished and safe. That's about the long and short of it, really.

I got at least 2 maybe more..

1. When and where did the cocoa love start?

2. How and where did you and [livejournal.com profile] sundart meet?

1) cocoa's been a favorite thing since I was very very small. Swiss Miss with the little marshmallows. We used to get Swiss Miss because they had a sugar free variety, and so both my diabetic dad and I could have cocoa together. Of course, when I went away to college, I discovered that coffee poured over a copious amount of cocoa mix needs no cream and sugar.

It's rather ridiculous how much I love cocoa, though - we're on can #3 of the family sized swiss miss canisters so far this season.

2) sunny and I met in a mystical far away (a whole three blocks) place called Smith College in our freshman year, cause we had a friend ([livejournal.com profile] jaicat) in common. We hit it off, and one night went stargazing at a nearby playground, where she taught me the Cassiopaeia constellation, we saw a stealth bomber go by, and I saw Fisher Price My First Shooting Star. We'd wished for the same silly thing (that we'd always be friends) and that was the night I fell in love with her. :)
