I just spent the last five or so hours curled up in bed with
sundart, reading. She was plowing through A Crisis on Infinite Earths, while I devoured the first of Tananarive Due's Living Blood books. Wow. That was a very well spent five hours, I didn't put the book down once. I'd be all set to dive into the sequel except the first one absolutely exhausted me. ;) So, maybe on the bus to NY later this week. But still, it was VERY cool. Think what would happen if Anne Rice, Octavia Butler and one of those writers from that line of Harlequin romances for black folk all got together and wrote a sort of vampire novel. Very weird, but a fascinating read. I love books that are only one or two steps off from actual reality, set in present times, with normalish people. Kinda messes with my impressionable mind and lets me believe that somewhere magic(k) actually does exist. I just have to wait for the unravelled binding of the right book to catch me. (cupcakes to any who get that obscure reference.)
6:15, and there's still a whole evening left. My hair mocks me, maybe I'll finally dredge up the oomph to do it. Been so unmotivated lately, bahh. I need to stop thinking so damn much and actually get some shit done.
