And now the real entry
Dec. 23rd, 2004 10:31 pmSuch weird weather for december. Almost 60 degrees F in Northampton today and raining like fuckall. And windy. You couldn't really begrudge either the wind or the rain really, considering how warm both were. It could really have started raining after the thaw though - skating around a slick driveway this morning wasn't exactly fun.
I managed to get my shopping done for the biofam this afternoon - got everybody stuff from spacecrime and A2Z. Got Penuche's younger kids projectile weaponry - that's sure to drive her nuts, but hey, stomp rockets and cat-a-pults that come with real foam cats? how could I resist? It's not like anyone's going to lose an eye.
Still, I've been really blah and unmotivated this holiday. I've just barely managed to get the big stuff covered, and there's a whole bunch of little things and Christmas cards that I still need to mail out, not like anyone really cares if this shit comes late. right? I dunno - This used to be my favorite time of the year, and there are lots of things I still love about it... I guess I just felt weirdly distanced from the whole thing this year. Hmm, there's a rant up in there I think... but it doesn't wanna come out now. Maybe later.
Oog, I still have to run around and do shit tonight in preparation for tomorrow's hectic departure, Saturday's holiday with the fam and ... yeah. Have I done any of it? hell no. Stupid apathy.
On an up note - I have hit unitard nirvana. Not just unitard nirvana, dancewear nirvana. Explore if you will River's Edge Dancewear, especially the massive selections of Bal-Togs products. They come in so big a range of sizes that both a stick figure and a 600 pound Bengal tiger could be quite comfy doing Twyla Tharp choreography in their stuff. And it's fairly cheap too. And the COLORS! drool. Considering my old black uni bit the dust on Tuesday, this is a timely find indeed. Of course it also begs the question - just what the steamed tomatoes is "Liturgical Dancewear?" People dance in church? WTF?
Right, enough fooling around. Stuff to do. *sigh*

Date: 2004-12-24 08:08 am (UTC)the unitarian church i used to attend had sacred dancers for... oh gosh, easter? dunno anymore. 'twas a woman and her daughter iirc. they were inspiring... and not just 'cos i think that getting up and moving makes Big Mama happy, y'know? it's just like how some things are better expressed through music-- sometimes you gotta dance for the spirit.
