Does anyone else out there take inordinate glee in that funny creaking noise/sensation of newly fallen snow crunching under hiking boots? I thoroughly enjoyed that walking home from the bus in the snow...

I am truly left to my own devices this evening as sunny called just before I got in the door. Apparently someone's evening is going quite well. :) Not that I mind - I've been rather enjoying my evening alone tonight... running some holiday-related errands after work, and just being out in this kind of snowfall with just my thoughts for company... been a while since I'd done that. I forget sometimes how I enjoy my own company if I'm busy - it's if I'm bored or stressed that dealing with myself is a bit much. Not stressed exactly, though lately I've been getting this feeling like I'm merrily ambling about my business but I'm about to get hit by a train. Random, hey?

I also discovered, to my fascination, that o.b. tampons are interesting in construction, that if you expand bottom a little bit and, while holding the edges, yank really hard on the string, the whole thing first pulls inside out like a tube sock and then unrolls until you have a 8 inch by 1.5 inch rectangle of cotton with the string looped loosely around one end. Why do I now know this you may ask? Well you see, I was in JCPenney's ladies room this evening and had the fabulous good luck to pick the stall with no toilet paper whatsoever, so this discovery was a desperate wave of ingenuity on my part. Fluff the thing out some and it makes halfway decent toilet tissue.

So. For the rest of my evening - a good hour of unwinding, a bit o' pottering about the house and then quite possibly bedtime. But for now, happy Valentine's day everyone... I leave you with the following thought:
