Big Apple!
Feb. 17th, 2005 06:57 pmSo sundart and I are brainstorming a list of young adult books set in New York City. So far we've come up with
any other ideas? I know you folks are literary sorts.
- From the mixed up files files of Mrs Basil E frankweiler (EL Konigsburg)
- the cricket in times square (?)
- Remember me to Harold Square (Lois Lawry?)
- Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, other books with those kids (Judy Blume)
- So you want to be a wizard, Book of Night with Moon (Diane Duane)
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (?)
- Tessie (Jesse Jackson - probably out of print)
- lots of out of print Ann M Martin
any other ideas? I know you folks are literary sorts.
Bewks!
Date: 2005-02-18 07:16 pm (UTC)It's "A Begonia for Ms. Applebaum" by Paul Zindel. I read it in junior high. It was depressing but awesome. Also, "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" was written by Betty Smith. I loves that one. Yes I does.
I couldn't italicize the book titles. Sorry.
