Mar. 30th, 2005 11:10 pmYou know, that creepy little boy from The Ring a) would have made an excellent Squee about five years ago b) is going to be totally creepy-hot in a very Giovanni Ribisi sort of way in a few years. And flawed as the TV version was, he made an excellent EXCELLENT Charles Wallace in A Wrinkle in Time.
So Ring 2 was interesting. Not really all that scary, I think the story kind of exhausted it's scare factor in the first one. But this one was a beautifully photographed exercise in seriously disturbing imagery and ways to make the mundane utterly creeptastic through well applied use of sound.

Date: 2005-03-31 04:15 pm (UTC)I saw the first ones, though (U.S. and Japanese). The U.S. one was decidedly more gritty and disturbing.
