No weird dreams to report this morning!

Yesterday I (whipping out actual bullets again):

  • got to work on a fun project at work and wound up staying late working on it. (yeah, yeah, and how many times can you use the word "work" in various forms in one sentence?)
  • rejoiced at the arrival of the new video card for [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess' computer. Soon soon, we will have one more window fan to work with rather than having it point directly into the case, and therefore, bye bye to the slight wiggle in screen. Next project - getting the CD burner fixed or replaced.
  • was touched when [livejournal.com profile] sundart brought me home a cutting from a purple coleus plant freshly stolen from the Smith President's Garden. It is now in a small vial of water, and I'm waiting with baited breath for it to start sprouting roots so I can put it in a pot and slowly nurse it until it is as big a monster as our friend Alena's erstwhile huge coleus, Samuel Rembrandt. I also have to restart some strawberries (the last generation, though fairly healthy, was also sharing soil space with some seriously gray fuzzy mold) and replant some aloe . .
  • chatted with [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess, helped [livejournal.com profile] sundart with dinner, talked to [livejournal.com profile] gossamer_gull on the phone, watched a show on VH1 devoted to celebrity backside.
  • went to bed obscenely early (like before 10!)

Looking forward to the holiday tomorrow, though I don't plan on doing anything special. I think maybe I will work on the dragonsea.net front page a bit - I'm writing an algorithm so that the image changes dependant on season, time of day, and then have a random bit thrown in for different kinds of weather. So far I've got five pages rendered (yay Bryce!) - the summery day (which is currently the front page), a summer night with lots of stars, a summer sunset, a summer day that's stormy, and a summer night that's stormy. I'm also trying to figure out if I want to do this in javascript (long and clunky, but familiar) or in PHP (almost completely new territory, but probably more efficient). I'll probably go with the PHP as i think I can stretch what I already know of it to accomodate this assignment, although I will have to brush up on time functions, as I have no idea how to deal with them as yet. On the other hand, if I do figure this out, I can add a timestamp to my haiku page . . . I should also install the new card and do several other things. And then we have to prepare for an impending houseguest in the midst of the chaos left by the electrician coming today and other BS - our friend Shanti, of former MSFC fame, is flying out to visit for a week from Utah. (Cause everyone needs a vacation from Utah.)

Anyway. off to do morning type stuff.

Speaking of former-MSFC fame, when are we going to put the MSFC website back up? I miss it so much! Argh!

If you need any help with the PHP, feel free to IM me. It's by far my favorite programming language and I have quite a bit of experience with it
