kjpepperEver notice how after you've made and checked a mix for the millionth time you think of one more song that should be on it? I just decided like ten seconds ago that I needed to include PDQ Bach's Toccata and Fugue Obnoxia on the Songs without Words mix . . . now to find something I'm not particularly attached to to boot out. Buena Vista Social Club seems like a good candidate. Boy, at this rate, I'm going to have to follow this one up with a short sequel, or at least an addendum, maybe a 90 minute?
I would recommend PDQ Bach to anyone out there who likes classical music, since their MO is to make fun of it. Lets put it this way - the aforementioned track begins somewhat like the similar Bach fugue of a similar name, except randomly launches into quasi stadium organ, and features a variation on "Neener neener neener." Funny, that expression. Where I grew up it was "Nanny nanny boo boo."
Anyway, for Two tracks that I would gladly sell my soul to have in some sort of format are the waltz from City of Lost Children and the cello/musical saw duet from Delicatessen. Hmm. I think I may need to have meself a Jeunet and Caro marathon again sometime soon. Or at least own those movies. Except I'm cut off from spending anything for the forseeable future.

In the meantime I'm taking suggestions for my as yet unnamed mix of bizarre stuff. Possible tracks include Fish Heads, the Super Mario Bros. remix of NIN's Closer, Ween's Mutilated lips, Stevie Vai's Voodoo Acid, some funny thing by Hugh Brown Shu, most probably The Artist, and other weird crap I have amassed in my five or so years collecting mp3s. What's the weirdest song you've ever heard?
