I've had a good couple of days... Well, after work, that was. Not going to bitch about it in an open post, but the fact that [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat hopped the bus all the way to Northampton just so I'd have company on the way home was much appreciated by the time I left the office at 6:30. After a little unwinding with the peeps, there was diner, and then there was only Zuul Ghostbusters, which was hilarious and fun to watch... Wow I hadn't seen that since I was a kid. So that's where [livejournal.com profile] darkling_dreams got it from. Jesus. Everything was only Zuul to her. :)

Other reasons why that movie was fun - I always enjoy New York porn. :) I really will just hang out and happily watch anything shot in my city. But it was a little staggering realizing how old this particular movie was - everyone still had the orange New York plates! NY plates have been through two redesigns since those!

sorry, being a new york nerd again.

mad kudos, by the way to the chic who offered up a $100 donation to the red cross in exchange for a slimer doll.

Today [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat and I took in the three county fair, and amid the fried food, bunnies, chainsaw art, dead thing on a stick, horrible sunburns and fresh from the dairy cows milkshakes, [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat introduced me to oxen pulls, which were quite fascinating. The one we were watching was eventually won by an ornery team named Ozzie and Jim that clearly didn't like each other to the point where it was just funny. Glad it wasn't the asshole whacking his team around hard enough to leave welts.

Tonight was devoted to bemoaning our leg muscles and crispy skins and watching more movies. Kung Fu Hustle was... wonderful, fascinating, and completely on crack. Basically, if Baz Luhrmann and Jean Pierre Jeunet collaborated on a kung fu movie, they might come up with something this batshit. But it was still quite fun and the lead actor is pretty tasty by the end. sydmor and I are currently midway through Kinsey, as [livejournal.com profile] morlock hasn't seen it.

Finally for tonight, holy crap, icons! I finally went through all of my drives and found many an old icon, which are back up in my account and happy, though those plus the two I made this evening from La Migration Bigoudenn still only brings my grand total to a puny 46. Need more... MORE!!!! *cackle* seriously though, I am wicked happy to see some of these again. :)

and still two more viable weekend days to go. muuuuuuuhahahaha...
