Sep. 7th, 2005 08:13 amI wake up late, same as usual, do way too much readings of teh livejournal, nearly burn the house down by turning on the wrong burner on the stove (not the one under the teakettle). Same as I've been doing for the past few months. Except... I dunno, the very air is different since the month turned. It's quite possibly the energy shift of a population jump in the area of maybe 20,000, all focussed on school stuff. but it's a good thing. The air crackles with a sense of purpose and the coming of Fall.
Hopefully there will be some saddle jumping for me too. Just a little. We'll see.
I'm also relishing that it's getting COLD at night. Seriously, that part is wonderful to someone who by choice sleeps under 2 blankets year round. It's cozy. Shut up.
Summer is over. August is over. I can mark this and move past. Challenges still loom before me, and joys. My 27th birthday is in a month.
gossamer_gull once said in jest to someone that when one has a birthday year in which you are a cubed number, you should enjoy it to the fullest, and I intend to, cause, as she pointed out, you don't get the opportunity again until 64. Course, if we're going to have geeky reasons to enjoy birthdays, I really should have enjoyed the last one more, seeing as it's a multiple of 13. :) nah. Cubes are cooler.
Of course, a couple of weeks afterward is the one-year anniversary of Mom's death... Wow. There is something perverse about looking up your mother's name in the Social Security Death Index. There's something really sad about having it return a result.
I need to do my hair again. Like yesterday.
Hmm. Bosslady and the Techs would probably like me better if I didn't show up in my PJs. Off to work now then.
