I swear I am capable of wasting and have wasted entire days reading Wikipedia. Considering this is the same girl who read through almost every volume of the latest edition of World Book when she was 8 (comprehension optional in most cases of course) I'm not really surprised at the addictive draw an online encyclopedia has. Especially one that has probably a more complete listing of Buffy episodes than most fan sites. :P

Today was good, despite going to sleep late, due to the long overdue reyarning of the fro. It's funny, [livejournal.com profile] morlock said that I'm definitely more me when I'm "kempt" as it were... I'm not sure if it's true, but I often find myself doing my hair to occupy my hands when my mind is running at forty miles an hour, so there is a sense of braiding some sense of calm, strength or stability into my head... and occasionally it does feel not unlike one of those crazy suiting up and holding a vigil over weapons that knights do before going off to battle. So maybe on some level he's right... though I am somewhat amused/annoyed by the thought of an essential part of my identity being woven into something as arbitrary as my hair. Then again, there's no mistaking the fact that I'm a black woman and that makes sense. ;)

All that aside I do look gooooooooood. :) I've returned to the colors in the icon this time around. I haven't work the fire yarn since that pic was taken actually and that was what, last April?

Today... let's see, rousted out of bed around 10 by [livejournal.com profile] sundart cooking breakfast for me and [livejournal.com profile] anzovin (which was a lovely treat). Went to pick up my patches after they went off to go see his mom, and I briefly met up with [livejournal.com profile] htl_1126 at Barts since she was in town and needed a little kvetch time, before coming home and getting sucked into the above wiki path... which you'll have to admit was quite an interesting path, though admittedly after Goodfellas I was actively trying to arrive at an amusing stopping point. Next time I'll try for something outrageously sexual I think. It'll be like the wiki equivelant of Dirty Word Patrol.

Ah, there's the whistle of the Amtrak from NY. :) Speaking of which, I'm supposed to go next weekend. Called Dad to confirm it actually and wow, is he stupid excited about me coming home. :) I was mostly calling to see if it was okay if I brought [livejournal.com profile] morlock down with me (not confirmed, we're still playing with the idea)... which ensued in the funniest conversation I've had with him in years. Mostly involving where the hell we were going to put him overnight, cause my dad is many things including in his seventies so I can't exactly expect him to be all progressive about that sort of stuff. (Three feet on the floor with the door open!) But the fact that I had to point out that we live in a five bedroom brownstone with an additional sleeper sofa in the living room and I THINK we can find SOMEWHERE to put [livejournal.com profile] morlock other than my room thank you made me collapse into mad giggles for about ten minutes after I hung up. *headmonitor* Wow.

Later I have to do a bit of data transfer since [livejournal.com profile] morlock's taking Beavis with him to Hanover tomorrow, so I want to make sure I have some of the files I need to work with on hand, and also leave a folder of music and stuff on the desktop for him to play with while he's bored. He is not, as originally thought, taking Eclipse as well, though I have to do some song shuffling on that beforehand as well. *sigh* *yawn* sometimes it's kinda inconvenient being the sort that doesn't get fully conscious until the sun goes down, though it's a bit less of an issue than it is in, say, july. Me and my being a nightowl... *hoots* Also later, [livejournal.com profile] anzovin's coming back over and he's going to start teaching me how to use Maya. Teh sexxxy.

ah well. Time to drink something and get cracking.
