squee moment: I love getting handwritten notes/letters from my sweeties.

method of scaring myself buggy: reading about the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and then about radiation poisoning and criticality accidents on Wikipedia. Yikes.

taste sensation: sydneycat's noodle casserole

surreal moment: sydneycat watching The Prisoner on her laptop, me watching SVU on the TV on mute with the closed captioning on.

asthma attack: brought to you by making a two block mad dash for the five thirty bus... and catching it!

near miss: pouncing sundart in bed when she had an open bottle of water in her hand.

silly moment: scooping up the Ivy cat and having her immediately take a swipe at my hair. I forget that I'm a walking kitty amusement park when my hair's done.

A few years ago, I gave a lecture on the Manhattan Project, and, of course, I had to touch upon the carnage of those attacks. Reading about 100,000 people dying in less than 1 second really freaked me out. I was doing the reading for the talk while, at the same time, I was reading the latest Harry Potter book (I think it was Goblet of Fire) to Sydneycat and our other roommate. Three nights in a row I had this weird dream where I was taking tea with Dumbledore and he was asking why Voldemort, who had never taken any interest in muggle activities, much less those in America, was trying to find fifty year old records from the Manhattan Engineering District. I always dropped my tea cup at that point.
