Jun. 20th, 2006 12:24 amWhy is it that work hours drag, but the time spent home trying to get stuff done that you actually like just flies? Not fair, especially when you factor in the need for such time wasting activities like sleeping.
They're opening a dunkin donuts in the old B-side space, which is 90% utter travesty, and 10% "mmmm, donuts..." The utter travesty bit is once more throwing my hands up at the general deterioration of Northampton into yuppie hell, where retail space is going at such a premium that only fast food places that the town once shunned and really successful restaurants can afford the rent anymore, and the fact that having a DnD's there is going to cut into State Street Fruit Store's morning rush business. So I'm a little sad, but I've long since given up on Northampton so once it opens (and hopefully by then I'll not be on as much of a dairy prohibition) I'll be hard pressed not to overindulge in my usually hazelnut coffee flavored creamed/sugar sludge. Not to mention maple frosted donuts.
Well, at least I managed to get the downstairs carpet vacuumed and the patch of tile floor in the "kitchen" scrubbed finally. No more ghosts of spinach past. The rest of the day was a whirlwind rollicking adventure in grocery shopping and wrestling and lemon chicken and sweet potatoes yummyness cooked by
sydneycat. Did I mention the thunderstorms? Squee.
I am, however, somewhat displeased by the fact that I seem to have several six legged roommates. I'm sure the state of the downstairs carpet aided in their settling in, which was part of the reason why I was vacuuming and scrubbing like a mofo this afternoon. On one hand, I get to try to feed them to Spidey. (so far no success.) On the other hand I don't think I can in good conscience have
morlock over until I'm sure they're gone, since he has enough trouble with bugs in the summer. Stupid ants.
Seems like everyone liked my pics from Friday so that whole thing is concluded well worth the effort.
I _should_ sleep now... damn it, I don't wanna.

Date: 2006-06-20 11:39 am (UTC)Plus Cold Stone tended to push strange combinations rather than straight ice cream... i think that plus the singing turned people off... plus their lack of a straight up plain vanilla.
I dunno, Quiznos is still going strong... DnDs probably has a pretty good chance of surviving, and while I'm annoyed about downtown reneging on it's "no fast food chains on main street" policy, I'm pleased about that on some level.
