Jun. 23rd, 2006 07:52 amNote to self - going to bed early plus having C there definitely means I'll get the fuck up on time. I overslept TWICE this week - yesterday rather spectacularly, as both
morlock and I were late for work in the process. Thank heavens for
anzovin, otherwise I would have wound up even later. Ah well, no real harm done. But I do have an appointment this morning so getting to work on time today would be nice.
nothing much too exciting to report, really. I've been seeing more of
morlock this week so that made me happy, and we did end up having quite a good time after he came over last night after I managed to bestir my arse into cleaning my house finally. Not that there was too much dirty about it, but vacuuming the rug is getting to be obsession level for me, and it apparently still/always needs it. I also got rid of
anzovin's shopping bag collection stuffed under the kitchen table, hung up the weird basket thingie that
sydneycat gave me, and started the laborious process of realigning the plastic strip that covers the staircase bannister, which had managed to skid down a couple of inches and hang off the bottom end. I only got about 2 feet up so far so there's a rather comical hump in the stripping where I stopped, but the bottom end already looks a lot better. One of many projects for the weekend... unless I decide that my general behind-ness at work warrents me going in tomorrow. It might. We'll see. I don't really mind that much if I do... nice chunky paychecks tend to cancel out the general annoyances of work.
One cool thing about having a big fat tree next to my window (after the obligatory complaining about blocking the "WAKEY WAKEY" light) is the birdies. There is a jay less than 2 feet away from me apparently having breakfast.
hmm. breakfast. What a fabulous idea.
