And I've never been more glad to see a place let me tell you. Even if it's about 20 degrees cooler in Boston. Nothing like home sweet Amherst.

It was a good trip, even with the various stress zipping around and the heat and the busy and the fact that we only managed to go on walkabout once, (we'll just have to go back one weekend, it's not that far.) and the OMG crappy wireless service in the hotel that shut down every night between 9:30 and 10:15 and wouldn't go back up again until aroudn 9:30 the next morning, if at all. That was totally unacceptable - how do you know you'll be playing host to a cubic crapton of computer geeks for an entire week and schedule your modem upgrades to a week AFTERWARDS?? Talk about a lack of foresight. I'm going to bitch vociferously on whatever travel review web sites I can find because that was utterly ridiculous. The bad part was the shut-down always seemed to happen when I was having deep schmoopy I-miss-you conversations with [livejournal.com profile] morlock, so that just made it doubly annoying. Sheesh.

On an amusing note, the geeks all streamed out of the hotel yesterday and this morning... when anzovin, sundart and I came down for breakfast they had all been replaced by a contingent of old black men in dark suits and hats. Turns out the Black Masons are in town having some sort of fucntion. Reminds me of Dad and his Q meetings. *chuckle* I am forever amazed at how damn SERIOUSLY black people take their clubs and secret societies. Not that there isn't benefit to be found in that, but still.

I was going to go to the Rewind tonight, as it's Stand By Me, but I do have to work at cinefart tomorrow for like eight hours straight (thank god I have new shoes!) so I'm thinking it might be a bit much, plus [livejournal.com profile] morlock is most likely coming over after game tonight and I fully expect to be thoroughly glomphed all over. It does suck a bit that I don't really get that much unwind time after my trip, but the good news is that I get to work the back stand all by me onesies, which actually makes me very happy, as I love love love the back stand. So I'm not complaining too hard. :) Anyways, I'd be up for pre rewind diner run if anyone's interested...

In the meantime, three new library books! No Kushiels scion unfortunately, but I do have a couple of collections of short fantasy stories, one set by Tanith Lee, the other is the first in the series of Best Fantasy and Horror collections. Plus Carey's Banewreaker, though I'm still pretty eh on the concept and am pretty much only reading it because it's there.

I should tidy up a bit, but it's hot and I am so very very lazy...
