...or at least, it will be once I manage to drag my carcass into bed. :)

Still, despite having to work at Cinefart both days this weekend (ick) I still had one of the loveliest weekends evar. Friday night [livejournal.com profile] morlock came over and there was much with the glomphing and the "OMG I missed you come here and kiss me," which was sweet and happy and full of the potentially neighbor-disturbing shenanigans. The next morning I spent the morning watching the end of the first season of Lost, and then I went to work and had the most boring slow shift evar, but I didn't mind because I was in the back stand and was mercifully spared the commercial loop and the bigger crowds, and during the downtime got to read Blankets, which was a graphic novel [livejournal.com profile] morlock had dropped into my lap with a directive of "Read. Now." I also have a list somewhere of all the words you can possibly make out of the word "Concessions," as I did spend a good portion of my shift staring at the lit sign, and [livejournal.com profile] morlock has in his possession the letter I scribbled on receipt paper.

Of course, the back stand does have drawbacks, as it is the repository of dead or broken hardware. The popper alarm doesn't work (not to mention the popcorn drawer itself gets stuck and requires a Bruce Lee flying dragon kick to get it closed, and the register drawer doesn't pop by itself, to name a few examples. And the grouchly old popper bit me while I was cleaning it, so I have a deep painful gouge in the base of my elbow. still, the day was more good than bad, and at the end of it [livejournal.com profile] morlock came and got me, treated me to dinner at the diner, where we had the usual fun chatting with [livejournal.com profile] lysscat and Cassie, and then went home, probably upset the neighbors some more (perhaps some Charles in Charge next time?) ** and then proceeded to sleep until noon and stay in bed until 3:30, with the exception of breakfast/brunch/whatever, which we haven't done since the Farmhouse.

Overall, good good weekend. But I have to go work in the morning. :(

* Cookie to the person who can identify the group that sang this as well as name their other big hit.

** I'd be dead surprised if anyone else gets this reference, though [livejournal.com profile] anzovin, [livejournal.com profile] sundart, [livejournal.com profile] inle_rah, [livejournal.com profile] extrajoker and probably [livejournal.com profile] reverend_tom aren't allowed to guess.

Chocolate chip, please.

Back To Life was totally Soul II Soul, who I very much liked. They had a few other hits though - A Dream's A Dream was one of them.

Kinda sounds like an obscure reference to the Family Guy episode where Peter is watching Charles in Charge while on guard duty, and a robber breaks into George Harrison's house and starts noisily beating George up.

OK, that song is more than 20 years old.
You must have "developed" real early as a result (to have little tits when the song came out!) LOL!!

All I can remember is that when Soul II Soul hit the scene I was in my 20s and hanging out & dancing in NYC bars until the break of dawn. . .

And then, sometimes, showing up to work wearing the same clothes. . .

Sigh.

Those were the days (when one could count on that kind of energy and never worry much about sleeping. . .)

But then, as with so many great groups, Caron Wheeler went solo and the next Soul II Soul CD was mediocre and that was the last one heard of them. . .

Oh well. It was still a great CD. . .
