I mean, the man made millions off his Croc Hunter days - and he still went went to work every day as head of Australia's national zoo. That's passion for you. His death isn't tragic, it's more heroic than anything else. Tragic would be if he got run over by a bus. A precious few of us will die doing something we love or believe in, so the few that do should be respected and honored.

He truly was one of the maddest buggers on the planet and to be quite honest; if we all cared for the world and the creatures that live on it with as much passion as Steve Irwin did, we would probably not be screwing it up so badly.
