Oct. 2nd, 2006 10:18 amLife progresses at the usual pace. (Not, thankfully, at a medium pace.) This weekend was tough, simply because I had an 8 hour popcorn shift on Saturday and anouther five hour one on sunday when I was still sore and misanthropic from the saturday one. At least no customers were mean to me, even after I explained that no, you can't get the tub and the two sodas for $5.75. (Stupid misleading advertising... stupid people that don't actually read what the ad says... all weekend long.... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!) Also I've seen more badly behaved children this weekend... Still there were some good things, like seeing htl_1126 and drklord1922 for a hot second yesterday, the ADORABLE Russian chickie that gave me a heartmeltingly cute smile when I gave her her change and thanked her in Russian, the guys who actually laughed after I pointed out that we never butter the soda after they ordered a large popcorn and two large sprites with butter, and the guy with dreadlocks who was all like "Hey! You startin' locs! Lookin' good girl!" So it wasn't all bad.
Neither was the weekend. There's been a moratorium on leveling for our warcrack group, so mostly I'm doing boring grindwork... which considering it's in a game somehow isn't boring at all, go figure. That really amuses me - take fishing for example - if I had to do that IRL, I'd be bored to tears. But in warcrack terms it's fascinating. Especially when you get three small trunks containing all sorts of sellable stuff in rapid succesion. So I spent a good amount of time beating up mobs for fun and profit and getting to the next levels in my professions. At the rate I'm going I'm going to max out all of them in pretty short order, and then have to wait around for a while until I can get to the Artisan level.
sundart has this unholy fascination with watching me play, which is wicked cute.
Had some quality offline time with morlock this weekend too - he was the primary reason I was so pissed off about getting called in on Sunday, because my bed was nice and warm and he was in it. But he gave me a ride to work in the pouring rain!
We finished Lost on Friday and we're all very excited about actually making it in time for the season premiere on Wednesday. I am amused by the raging debate between
anzovin and
sydneycat on whether Michael is a completely reprehensible character or a sympathetic one... my opinion is holy crap Harold Perrineau rawr gimme. I've loved that actor since Romeo + Juliet and him prancing around in silver glitter drag. But anyway, looking forward to getting bonked in the head with the WTFBBQ, brother? bat on a weekly basis this season.
sundart's apple crisp? Divine. O. M. G. *drool* Gods, I love fall! And it is, officially - I looked up while walking home and saw Orion for the first time since February. Much with the yay.
For some reason for the last three days I've had Christopher Walken in my head yelling about more cowbell. No idea where that came from.
Whoa. I just remembered... my birthday is like on Saturday. I'm gonna be 28. Eeep.
's about it.
