yeah, it's a bad pun, but I haven't had my coffee yet. Shup.

So I do have this habit of going through the wikipedia obituaries (or as they say "Recent Deaths") in the morning. It's sort of replaced my celebrity news habit, since now that sort of gossip bores me, but finding out that interesting people died recently is always kinda... fascinating? yeah. Yeah, it's morbid, but I haven't completely shed my goth tendancies.

Two names from the past week. Freddy Fender, who sang Tejano/country music and was a rather large fixture in the making of mix tapes for [livejournal.com profile] beatgoddess's grandmother, much to all of our amusement (there is still a folder of his stuff on our hard drive from that project), and Daniel Emilfork, who was sort of the Bela Lugosi/Christopher Lee of France, seeing as he was always cast as the evil guy in a lot of MST3K level of bad horror movies (in fact I think he was in a few movies WITH Christopher Lee) because he was... well, he had one of those faces that lent itself to such typecasting, and made him perfect for his rather memorable role in The City of Lost Children.

In other news, along with the steak, C and I got the decor in, though we have yet to find fine grain sand in a big enough quantity bag for our nefarious porpoises. Still utterly pissed about my hat - need to look up the vendor list for this summer's pirate faire and find the guy who was selling the exact hat I wanted.

Caffiene and work now.
