kjpepper: (green bodice)

*chuckle* I'm probably the only one on earth who is actually disappointed when the total snow accumulation is less that 24 inches, huh? I had gone over to QT11 to watch [livejournal.com profile] morlock play God of War II (which has a dismay inducing dearth of boobies, WTF? that was the best part of GoW1!) and had fallen asleep there, and didn't end up waking up until 5am ish. Hence the photograph earlier. It was fun (and tiring!) walking back, as I had to constantly negotiate drifts up to mid calf. Glad I borrowed [livejournal.com profile] sundart's snow boots.

In other news, I found myself with a weekend, so I cracked my wrists and spent all day coding around the guild web site. Finished the photo album and added a few things here and there. Stuff I'd been meaning to do forever, basically. Incidentally... Is anyone reading this interested in rolling up a character on the Icecrown realm and joining our guild? We're not ready for big raids by any means, but if a small, close knit, silly guild of people appeals to you let me know.

DHL finally showed up today and carted away epeen1. So Dell can stop bitching and moaning at me. Man I hate DHL. They's a bunch of surly muffkas from the CSRs that get all huffy with you if you dare imply something is wrong with their web site (which there is, you can't cancel pickup times because it doesn't accept confirmation numbers) to the delivery/pickup guys. The one today had the nerve to whine about carting the forty pound box all the way back down three flights of steps. 1) hello, that's why you use hand trucks and b) hello, that's your job? Grrrr. Well, that whole mess is out of my hands. Now I can stop worrying about it.

I keep forgetting to mention that I'm in absolute lurve with an abnormally short hyperactive manic depressive Barrayaran Vor. That would be Miles Vorkosigan, of course. I've been wolfing down every book in that series like it's the last bit of written fiction on the planet. (which so far means I've read, oh, twelvish book/novellas in the last month or so - never mind that maybe eight of them were in omnibus editions.) Lois McMaster Bujold has done the impossible and has created good - GOOD, I tell you - space operas. She has now been inducted into my personal pantheon of writers. Currently have just started Memory, which means I have to date three books left. Man I'm going to cry when I get to the end.

Mmm. There's more, of course, but if I'm gonna meet my boy for ice creamins (yes, today of all days I get hit something fierce with the craving for a milkshake) I'd better get a move on.
