Mar. 18th, 2007 08:27 pmI am currently warm, sleepy, contented and maybe even the weeist bit tipsy. I often forget what a lightweight I truly am, and the fact that a single beer manages to put me into a state of pleasant fuzziness never ceases to amuse or amaze me.
Today was... well, it just was. I went over to QT9 for brunch with the fam and inle_rah, who had dropped by for a visit, which was terrifyingly yummy. This was promptly followed by me passing out on the couch for several hours, as despite the eight hours of sleep had last night I was still plagued by the sleepies. Roused myself at four, dragged myself upstairs to do morlock's dishes as promised, broken up with some intermittent watching of the Avengers (oh, yummy yummy Diana Rigg!) with sydneycat and anzovin. I now have this sudden need to have a Get Smart! marathon in the near future. I also did a wee bit more coding on the Anami site.
Due to the fact that there is nothing in any of our kitchens due to a need to go shopping on all fronts, I decided to treat myself to dinner. I was going to just go to Antonio's and pick up pizza but as I'm trying to be nicer to my digestive system which has been cranky at me of late, I decided against that. Instead I found myself in the ABC happily tucking away some tenderloin tips and a rather nice honey pilsner. Alas, it wasn't quite nice enough for me to get over the "yech, beer" response tho... I occasionally have to remind myself that no, no really, I don't like beer. Though all told, this was inoffensive enough and went down rather nicely with the steak. I'd forgotten how wonderfully decadent taking oneself out to dinner at an actual restaurant is. It really is quite nice, just you, the food, and in my case a good book, as I've started on my next Miles Vorkosigan fix. Though note to self, I really need to stop into the RMV and do something about my permit, as my current ID just confounds folk with it's lack of expiration date. Not that I drink all that often in places where they care enough to card. I was actually kinda disappointed when they didn't bother at the Hanger a couple of weeks ago.
But yeah dinner was good, and I am now kinda at loose ends. I'm actually sorely tempted to go to bed, though the fact that it's only 8:30 does make this idea somewhat offensive to my nightowlish self. We'll see. :)
