Thanks for all the birthday wishes! it's always fun to open up one's journal to a page full of HAPPY BIRTHDAYs.
Today was good. Slept in, sorta.
sundart made me pancakes and bacon for breakfast and then made omelets for her and anzovin which apparently accendentally contained jalepenos so I had a good laugh at her expense.
I got a really swanky pumpking carving kit from
lostcircuit. Like, the sort that shows you how to insert sparklies into your pumpkin. The world needs more gay gay disco inferno jack o'lanterns, apparently. I also got coffee making supplies from
sundart, as in a coffeemaker with timer, a travel mug and some of that HEAVENLY fair trade coffee that they only ever sell at Ten Thousand Christians Villages downtown. Seriously? That stuff is DELICIOUS.
sydneycat brought me offerings of Japanese sweets (Pocky and Hello Panda) and stickers, and then, due to a misspeaking yesterday, gave me an emo camel. (Explaining would take too long. I'll do it sometime, just not tonight. :) )
I got to do awesome stuff today. Had quality just woke you up for snugglin time with the boy, and later on a bunch of us went down to Atkins Farms, ostensibly for pumpkins (and we did get six big ones and four or five tiny tiny ones) but we also left with suck stuff as cider, cider DONUTS, jelly bellies, free range dairy local ice cream, and other yum yums. And then we came home and there was a not-quite-surprise
zadnyl, which is always fun. :) And then we watched Reefer Madness the Musical. Oh my god, what a cracked movie. I think I love Steven Weber even more now. Actually we watched it twice because it was so fucked up we insisted that
anzovin and
lostcircuit watch it when they came in. I'm going to have "Listen to Jesus, Jimmy" stuck in my head for weeks now I think.
There were also horrible betty crocker yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting and sprinkles (with emo candles) and really really quality steak to be had for dinner. And I just capped it off by watching the catty catty Rock of Love reunion show. So really good birthday was had... and the best part is I don't have to work tomorrow nyeh, so I can wait up for boy to come home from work with impunity.
EDIT: Regarding the title (translates more or less to "what a pity birthdays only happen once a year") I learned the song in seventh grade (and still sing it when either drunk or feeling silly), but I'd never actually seen the cartoon it came from before now. I've just spent the last ten minutes hunting down clips of Chebarashka on YouTube. I think I'm in love.

EDIT AGAIN: I heart trolls.
